Commander-in-Chief

a bit like the West Wing but with a woman president…

I have been watching the first few episodes of Commander in Chief, a series about the accession of a female president.

It reminds me a lot of the West Wing, but whereas the focus was on the presidential staff this is very much focused on the president.

As well as covering the political and policy decisions that the president makes, it also covers the changes and impact on the presidential family.

The first few episodes have concentrated on the impact of change on the first family and the president having to deal with difficult problems facing America.

With the flashbacks we do start to see how the president got to be president.

I am not 100% sure about it, but the first few episodes of the West Wing were just okay, and it takes time for a series to bed down and to gain an understanding of the series as a whole. I was disappointed for example when Jack and Bobby was cancelled which was an interesting slant on the president, so I hope that Commander-in-Chief is given time to settle in and get better.
