The Empire Strikes Back


still an excellent film...

The new Star Wars films are okay to good, but the Empire Strikes Back (which was recently voted best SF film) is still one of the best Star Wars films every made (if not the best) and certainly one of the best SF films ever.

Last night I watched the version now available on DVD (which is different to the theatrical release, the video release, the revised theatrical release and so on...).

I really enjoyed the film, even though I have seen it quite a few times before.

It is the one Star Wars film I did not see at the cinema (though I did see the revised version which was re-released in 1997). It is a very cinematic film and one that probably works even better at the cinema than on a TV.

I think the Battle for Hoth is a superb set piece and the special effects are excellent.



Well worth watching.
