Gattaca

saw the end...

If you are a regular reader of this blog you may recall a post I made in December 2004 about the film Gattaca.

Here is the post

Last night we decided to watch Gattaca, I had recorded it onto tape a few years ago from TV (Channel 4), but never had got round to watching it, it then got moved into storage before I found it again a few days ago.

We were well into the film, when it suddenly switched to football... I then realised I must have recorded over the end of the film!

This means I will now need to buy it or (more likely) rent it, just to see the end of the film...

One of the advantages of using a computer to record TV is that it is very difficult to record over a previously recorded programme, something which is easy to do with a VCR and a tape.

I did manage to catch it again, this time I used an eyeTV device to record the film, I then edited the adverts out, and converted into MPG format (to burn it onto DVD using Toast), however I also copied it over to my Apple PowerBook so I could watch it on a plane trip I was making (which is also the reason I have quote my post rather than linked as I am writing this on the plane). EDIT link added.

As it had been so long since I watched the first part of the film that I did in fact watch the film from the beginning.

It is a very good film, and certainly has a few twists and turns in the plot. It is certainly a warning on the potential dangers of genetic engineering.

You can buy Gattaca from amazon.com and amazon.co.uk
