GroupSync

Download current version (v0.99)

Important Update!
The current version of GroupSync fixes an issue which can cause scheduled sychronizations on a Tiger server to enter an infinite loop and eventually tie up the server with synchronization processes. Please download the current version which fixes this issue.

What it Does

GroupSync is a utility for managing synchronization of groups on Mac OS X Server between Active Directory (using the Active Directory Plug-in), Open Directory, and MacManager.   GroupSync can manually perform synchronizations, or can schedule synchronizations to occur at user-specified intervals.

Active Directory to Open Directory Synchronization

GroupSync can synchronize Active Directory groups (that are recognized by the Active Directory Plug-in) to Open Directory-based groups.   It can also synchronize all users inside a specified Active Directory container or OU to an Open Directory group.   If the group has not been created in Open Directory, GroupSync will create it.

For the AD to OD Synchronization to work, GroupSync assumes that you are using the "Golden Triangle" setup of AD integration.

Open Directory to Macintosh Manager Synchronization

GroupSync can also export a list of group membership for all groups in the Open Directory domain in Macintosh Manager import format.
