Friday, October 8

  • Arrive in Israel
  • Sabbath dinner at the home with a group of Israelis in Hertzlyia

Saturday, October 9

  • Helecopter trip from Benetal/Kuneitra landing pad to West Bank, west across Israel to the Mediterranean, and then northeast to the Golan Heights
  • Visit Golan Heights, city of Katzerin, the Shatto-Golan Winery and Israel-Syria Border
  • Meet with Elissa Berg, Director of International Relations for the Golan Regional Council. Elissa went to school in Wilmington, DE
  • Visit city of Haifa
  • Drive through Daliat-el-Carmel and Ousefia, biggest Druse Villages in Israel on the top of Mount Carmel
  • Return to Tel Aviv

Sunday, October 10

  • Drive south to the Judean Desert
  • Visit city of Arad, meet with Mayor Moti Brill. Mayor Brill was formerly a research scientist at Israel's Nuclear Research Center at near by Dimona
  • Visit Arad Absorption center to see how Ethiopian, Russian and Argentinian Olim (immigrants) are integrated into Israeli society
  • Visit Dead Sea Works to see how the Dead Sea is being "mined" for minerals
  • Visit Naot Kikar, an agricultural moshav near Jordan to learn about the science being used to "make the desert bloom"
  • Visit Tamar Region Council to learn about the Dead Sea area
  • Return to Jerusalem

Monday, October 11

  • Visit Old City of Jerusalem including Mt Scopus, Mount of Olives and its churches: Ascension, Pater Noster and Dominus Flevit
  • Walk through the Jewish Cemetery of Mount of Olives to the Church of Gathsemene
  • Visit Lion's Gate, Church of St. Anna and the Pool of Bethesda
  • Walk the 14 Stations of the Cross, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Via Dolorosa
  • Return to Jerusalem Post Studio for broadcast

Tuesday, October 12

  • Visit Hadassah Hospital and the Trauma Department which treats most of Jerusalem's terror victims
  • Meet with the Fund for Victims of Terror as well as a survivor of a terror bombing
  • Visit Abu-Gosh, an Arab village near Jerusalem and its 12th century Crusader Church
  • Meet with the head of the town council to learn what it's like being an Arab living in Israel
  • Return to Jerusalem Post Studio for broadcast

Wednesday, October 13

  • Visit an Israeli settlement, the city of Maale-Adumin and meet with the Mayor of the city, Benny Kasriel.
  • Visit Yad Vashem, museum and memorial to the Holocaust
  • Return to Jerusalem Post Studio for broadcast

Thursday, October 14

  • Drive north on Highways #1 and #6 to visit the Seam Line and Security Fence in the Kfar Saba-kalkilya area
  • Meet with Israel Defense Force officer on security fence issues as well as the Head of the Council of Bath-Hefer
  • Visit Tel Aviv, including the Tel Aviv Museum, and Old Jaffa Artists Quarter and Fisherman's Port
  • Return to Jerusalem Post Studio for broadcast

Friday, October 15

  • Visit the Western Wall (Kotel) tunnels in Old Jerusalem
  • Tour Jerusalem including Mea-Shearim, Angel bakery, Nachlaot neighborhood, Machane Yehuda Market
  • Meet Israeli's on the street
  • Return to Jerusalem Post Studio for broadcast

Saturday, October 16

  • Visit Kibbutz Ein Gedi and it's beautiful Botanical Gardens
  • Ascend and tour Massada
  • Return to Ben Gurion Airport flight to US

Sunday, October 17

  • Arrive back in US
