Do over
people need to stop
The world is remarkably resilient. We see it
over and over again. If we just let it do its own thing for a while shit seems
to sort out. This forgiving attitude, i feel, is at the heart of everyone in a
deep sense.
So lets be perfectly
clear about this. You get a certain number of free passes, do-overs if you
will. If you react to something the first time and are overly dramatic about
it, you are not, by law, required to continue the farce to its absurd end. If
you get up and say "you know what... that wasn't as bad as i thought it was. Im
good." the world as a whole will have much more respect and forgiveness than if
you continue to act as though you WERE in fact that hurt/offended. When it is
possible for an impartial observer to tell you are full of shit - it is time for
the farce to end and as gracefully as you can for you to get back to
work.
This applies equally well to 19
year olds as it does to presidents.
It
is time for people to stop convincing them selves that the world cant tell the
difference... we can and you look like a jackass.
