Species: Chrysopelea paradisi

Size: snout-vent length=47 cm, mass=11 g

Video recording type: NTSC standard (30 Hz)

Playback rate: real-time

Description: C. paradisi straight glide

Additional comments: This snake consistently glided farther than any other that I've observed. In this sequence, in which there is no J-loop takeoff (instead, the snake mostly just fell), the snake turned twice - a small turn at the beginning, and a more pronounced turn in avoiding the tree. This turn is described in Socha (2002), Nature 418: 603-604.
