Acheron
The former tenth barony of Alahan. Has since become cursed after several magi of Alahan opened a portal of darkness, thus paving the way for the path of Typhonism
Aegher the brief
Champion of the Brotherhood of Bronze, who rides an enormous Razorback. Other members of the Brotherhood like to joke about Aegher having an inferiority complex, despite this he is the first assistant to Fenggar.
Agonn the Ardent
Champion of Alahan, sworn enemy of Azael
Ailovyox, the first born
Ailovyox is the the first born of the wolfen, and the pack leader of the Worgs. His son is also a pack leader, and he carries the symbol of Yllia on his back.

Lictor of Mid-Nor.

Lands of the Griffin empire.
Alahaars
Ancestors of the Lions of Alahan, born from the fusion of Lahnars and Ylliaars.
Alahan Swordmasters
Veterans who have faced dangerous perils in the four corners of Aarklash. Their corps isn't as prestigious as the Valkyries or as efficient as the Royal Guards, but it has managed to gain the esteem of the Alahan people through blood and honor. The Swordmasters don't bother with exotic fighting techniques or strategic preferences: they respect the courage and skill which lead to victory.
Alahel
Adventurer, servant and messenger of king Gorgyn. The King entrusted his magic sword Deliverance to him, granting him the title of bearer of the Kings word. Alahel is also a friend and protege to Meliador the Celestial.
Alchemical Clystere
Instrument allowing Salias Yesod to give life to its Homonculus by extracting the bodily fluids from the body of his enemies.
Alchemical Magic
The magic of the Alchemists of Dirz draws its power from the Gems of Darkness. Without them, none of their operations would be possible. Syhars thus mantain good relations with the Necromancers of Acheron, as only they can provide the gems. The price they pay however is exorbitant, the necromancers claim the corpses of the dead and the dying, the support of whole Dirz regiments, and access to all the experimental knowledge of the Scorpions.
Alchemist
Name given to the Dwarven magicians. Theres no link with the Alchemists of Dirz.
Alchemists Leaders
This thinking caste in the Alchemists is often selected and educated as soon as the embryonic stage.
Alderan
Crane Warrior. Once a powerful warlord, Alderan managed to build himself an empire using only his strength. However, he fell for a woman; Phedris. In reality she was a servant of the forces of Darkness, a priestess of divinities who had not yet revealed themselves to humanity, and in no time Alderan was her slave. She used the warrior to further the plans of Darkness until Alderan realized he was being manipulated. After returning from the sacking of Koldan, where almost all of his men had been killed, he impaled himself on his own bronze glaive. Shortly afterwards he returned to the battlefield with his perfidious lover's soul forever a prisoner bound to his sword.
Allmoon
The barony of Allmoon is located at the extreme south of the Kingdom of Alahan, an arctic region swept by a perpetual blizzard. It is a mysterious place with myths as old as the secrets trapped beneath its glaciers.
Alphax Weapons
Special weapon in which the pommel is filled with a liquid which permanently flows down the blade, which explains it's changing look and augments the strength of the wielder... Standard Alphax Glaives can be found, but also unique weapons such as the Major Alphax Scimtar.
Amaranthe
A flower which the Kelt druids believe cures all ills.
Arcavius
First prophet of Merin, former Baron of Alahan. Arcavius, after the revelation of Merin, left for a long pilgrimage to research the precepts of the Single God, before founding Akkylannie. He travelled many paths, sometimes surrounded by disciples, sometimes accompanied only by Fortune. Worrying little about material concerns, it was not rare that he would donate part of his own armour, as a former Baron of Alahan, by means of thanks to his hosts. It is known that the Inquisition of Akkylannie seek to reclaim his armour, which, according to legend, would have extraordinary powers. The search for the Tomb of Arcavius is the origin of a new Griffin Crusade. It is hidden in the midst of the Orkish Territories.
Ard Ri
Ard Ri is the title of the supreme chief of the Kelts. No one carries the title today. No one, other than him, is allowed to have seven colours on their tartan.
Arh-Tolth
God of the Dirz. It is said that knowing his secret pushes whoever knows it to madness... The secret is supposed to be carved on a pulsing black monolith, in the depths of the Alchemical Desert.
Argg-Am-Ork
End of the age of the dwarves of Tir-Na-Bor.
Argument (The)
The Argument is the affectionate nickname given by Captain Krill to the oldest and most fatal of the guns on the Black Tooth. Manufactured to be easily disassembled, simple of use, this small gauge cannon has been used as the "final argument" in many discussions between the Pirates and and their enemies...
Arin
Father of the Barhan Gods, came to Aarklash to fight on the side of the chosen people.
Aristarque
Grand Master of the Swords of Lahn brotherhood.
Arkan The Duelist
Champion of Alahan. In his younger days was one of the best mercenaries of the Duke of Cadwallon, the city of thieves. It is said that he stole his cloak from his former employer... but only those two know the truth. No matter what happened, the Duellist's head is now worth a king's ransom in Aarklash's most dangerous city.
Arkeon Sanath
Scorpion Champion. He combines the technical combat skills of the ancient Griffins and the evil manipulations of the Technomancers. His title is Bashar of the Dawn Warriors, and he was responsible for the plundering and destruction of Kylae. He is famous within the Empire of Dirz, and his blood is gorged with drugs which give him super-human capabilities in combat.
Armour of Allmoon
The Armour of Allmoon is a relic of ages past, handed down by those who know the legends of the Eternal Winter. It is said that anyone who wears it can feel and make others feel the sorrow haunting the barony of ice.
Armourer-Scientist
One of the Dirz casts. The only ones to know the secret of the alloy used to forge the Scorpion weapons.
Astrolabe of Destiny
Artifact allowing a Wolfen shaman to see a few of the paths destiny offers him.
Avanc (The)
Guardian of the Garden of Creation in the Dawn of time. His role was to protect mankind from wild animals and from the gods. But he started to love the creation of Cernunnos and Danu, fascinated by their intelligence. He started to forget his task and started mingling amongst the humans. Man, without protection, fell under the sway of the gods and started to kill each other in wars. The Avanc, disgusted, refused to take sides and disappeared.

Goddess of Death and Time in Alahan
Azael
Called "The Infidel". Mage of Acheron, initiate of darkness, member of House Lazarian.
Azzoth
Called "The Cheat". Goblin champion.
Baal the Conqueror
Hero of the Sessairs clan. He became a centaur following a battle with a Formor. The evil aura produced by the death of the demon corrupted Baal and fused him to his mount, turning him permanently into a powerful centaur.
Babayagob (The)
Powerful Goblin witch, often rides a broom into battle.
Bal-Kahn
The Khor master armourer, infinitely respected within Dwarf society. He has two sons, Lothan and Lor-Arkhon, with Lothan being the eldar. Rare are the Dwarf lords who can brag about possessing armour forged by the Master. His armours, true masterpieces of goldsmithery, are priceless artefacts, each being worth a Kings ransom. Bal-Kahn now devotes most of his time to research and experimentation: with his younger brother, Fenggar, he's developed an incalculable number of inventions to improve the potential and reliability of steam engines. In order to test them the Brotherhood of Bronze was founded.
Banner of the Lion
An object scared to all of Alahan, the banner of the Lion is the symbol of the army of King Gorgyn. Its power inspires the noblest acts and produces an inflexible will to break the enemies of the kingdom.
Banner of Yilla
A banner of Yilla, often as old as the pack which posseses it, carries all of the memories of hunting and war of the Wolfen which pay hommage to her. It is charged with the magic energy delivered by the star of the night during the inumerable hunts carried out by the pack: more than a symbol of authority of the chief, a banner of Yilla represents the history and culture of the Wolfen, making bearing the banner a great honour. It places its bearer under the Protection of the Moon, whilst enabling them to call upon the Power of Water like a magician.
Banshees
Corpses of adulteresses condemned to Undeath by the necromancers of Acheron. The Kelt law which demands the decapitation of an adulteress provides the Order of the Ram with some of its best troops. The howl of a banshee sows fear into the hearts of its enemies.
Barbarians
Name usually given to the Kelts by other people.
Bards
Troubadors of Alahan, recounting the feats of the valiant Knights of the Lion at the court of Gorgyn, King of Alahan, or in those of the Barons of the kingdom. They know the history of the baronies and show exceptional song talents, whilst playing several traditonal instruments of the court. They are furthermore unbeattable dagger throwers, and they often follow in the footsteps of Heroes on the battlefields in order to witness their feats and, somtimes, to influence their very destiny...
Barhan
Name given to the "chosen people", in other words the Lions of Alahan. Can in fact be applied to any citizen of Alahan.
Baronies
Name given to the provinces of Alahan, surrounding the Heart of the Kingdom. The head of each is a Baron, pledged to the King of Alahan. The most famous of the baronies are Allmoon and Acheron. The Southern Barony is also one of them.
Bashar
Important rank within the forces of Dirz. Arkeon Sanath holds that rank.
Becbunzen
Goblin hero, his armour is shaped like an enormous metal rat.
Belial, Prince of the Abyss
Prince of the Abyss, major ally of Acheron.
Biosurgeons
Caste among the Alchemists of Dirz. True "shapers of the flesh", Biosurgeons are able to increase the resistance of the bones and muscles of their guinea-pigs in order to create terrible machines of war. The prefer to remain cloistered in their laboratories, hidden under the ziggurats of Syharhalna, with the exception of the Biopsists.
Biopsists
Warrior-Mages of the scorpion. The only Biosurgeons who spend their lives in the desert, collecting interesting specimens to feed the work of their masters. These samples are collected and preserved until their return to Shamir. To nourish themselves, Biopsists inject capsules of neutrients via valves located on their bodies. By this same mechanism they can consume vital fluids from the bodies of their adversaries. They tend to wear chitinous cloaks. They are very specialised trackers, it is said that they are better hunters than the Wolfen.
Birthing Tanks
Also called cloning tanks. From now on less necessary to the survival of the Empire of Dirz. Used to mass produce the identical warriors who will be used as human shields.
Black Tooth (The)
Name of Captain Krills boat, equipped with a device which made it famous: wheels, because its Captain, Krill, is afraid of water... When the Red Flag is hoisted, the adversaries of the Black Tooth know that its crew will take any prisoners. For years and years, the crew of the Black Tooth fights side by side, each one supporting his fellow-member, the others always ready to jump in to the fray to help a comrade in difficulty. The members of the crew know each other perfectly and are hold each other in high regard.
Blade of Judgement
On becoming an Inquisitor, the warrior mage recieves from his Master of Arms a sword called the Blade of Judgement. In the hands of an Inquisitor, this weapon has the ability to release a heat equivalent to the hearth of the forging mill from which it came. The sword can then slice through the thickest armours, enflicting frightening damage.
Blades of Carnage
Swords of the Crane Warriors, able to drink the blood of their enemies.
Blades of Torture
Most common Demon weapon. They are animated by a captured soul and can fight remotely by leaving the hand of their master. They are entrusted to the troops of Acheron by the Grand Duke Feyd Mantis. Indestructible, they only disapear if their master suddenly dies.
Butchery of Diisha
A famous battle where many Goblins fell. Captain Krill took part, and afterwards killed the marshall who had sent him in.
Bran-O-Kor
The Orkish territories. A pityless area, struck by a blazing sun.
Briareus
Legendary monster, released by the Gorgon after the confrontation between the Selenites and the Swords of Lahn at the battle of Tycho.
Brotherhood of Bronze
The Brotherhood of Bronze, a group of Dwarves, try out all the new dwarf steam engines, under the leadership of Fenggar: he has assembled around him a small number of Dwarves worthy of his confidence and especially bold enough to test machines that are still highly unstable. Among the Brotherhood are Bal-Kahn's own sons Lor-Arkhon and Lothan, and Aegher the Brief (the first assistant of Fenggar). The other members are: Fenggars mechanical Familiars, the Thermo-Warriors, and the Forge Guardians.
Bysra
Demonic wolfen, with a shadowy past. Said to have turned to the way of darkness and necromancy...
Caer Maloth
Vimras Maloth's mate, bears a terrible hatred for the one who stole the body of her loved one: Kaian Draghost.
Caduceus
Sceptre which represents two dragons coiled around an axis and holding an engraved emerald in their mouth. Contains the secrets of the operation of the Great Machines.
Cadwallon
The city of thieves, where all races live side by side, located within Cynwall territory. Weapons are prohibited there and plots are legion. It is a free city today, but formerly was an ancient Elven city.
Captain Krill
Goblin, captain of the vessel "the Black Tooth". Has always hated water and possess a strong tendancy towards impatience.
Caste of the Blacksmiths
One of the most prestigious castes of Dwarf society. It is a great homour for a family to have one of their members amongst this elite, but it is very much a closed circle that is not easy to break into. Only the most influential families can even hope to have one of theirs join the caste. However, it sometimes happens that a young Boor who proved his courage and his loyalty is admitted to the rank of Forge Guardian after undergoing an initiation rite.
Cave of the Murmurs
Cave covered with inscriptions, revealing the way to Tycho. Migaïl the Selenite is its guardian.
Central Machinery
Machinery found at the heart of all dwarven cities, which are filled with its operational humming. The heart of the machine depends on three delicate wheels that require very precise handling.
Cernunnos
One of the founding gods of humans. Created the first humans of Aarklash with Danu, using the primal Clay.
Chagall the Dog of Darkness
Ghoul champion. Formerly Chagall the Hungry. More experienced and has met with a kindred spirit - Azahir. Got a doll out of the meeting...
Chagall the Hungry
Ghoul champion. Lost his hands after devouring them. Perpetually hungry ever since he ate a mana gem of Darkness.
Circaeus
One of the many paths of magic, one which can be perfidious and insidious. The Magicians who master this path have an innate gift to find the right words which will provoke the desired emotion amongst their audience.
Clairvoyant Familiar
Name given to Magnus the Mystical's familiar, who gives him a form of 6th sense.
Cloak of Crawling
Terrifying cloak of Sasia Samaris, hiding many secrets. It was created from the genetic material of the wildest animals of the desert. A living entity able to share and express the emotions felt by its owner. Its glands are capable of producing a powerful acid when it carriers out a symbiotic attack aiming to cover and destroy an opponent. The cloak inflates when Sasia arrives on the battlefield, entering into symbiosis with it... In addition to its combat powers, the cloak also helps with movement, allowing Sasia to ignore the terrain traversed.
Cloak of Hiding
Cloak currently in the possession of Arkan the Duelist, after he stole it from the Duke of Cadwallon. The cloak allows him to slip into the shadows to aid the many plots he takes parts in.
Codex of Merin
Manuscript containing the fundamental precepts of Merin. The disciples of Merin belonging to the Order of the Inquistion keep a copy of this work about their person at all times.
Commodores
High leaders in the Empire of Dirz.
Commodore Hakem
Dirz Commodore killed in a battle by his own aide, while he was in the throes of dementia following a problem during his incubation. Commodore Hakem's Scimtar was lost during at this point, and resurfaced in the hands of Kal Shadar, who was present at that battle.
Conscience
The Magicians who master the Way of the Forge know that machines have a conscience.
Coryphaeus (The)
One of the Two confessors of Feyd-Mantis, and master of the Quaestors.
Corwin Khorto
Imperial Inquisitor, author of the Edict of Merin, and founder of the the Darkness Hunters corps.
Count Bromide
First Duke of Cadwallon to be of Goblin origin. Took the place of Duke Koliandre the Furtive by personally assassinating him.
Crane Warriors
The necromancers have the bad habit of awakening the dead and enchanting them with their will. The rank and file thus comes to enlarge the rows of the skeletons and others zombies, but the most powerful warriors lose their identity to become the champions of Acheron, the Crane Warriors, formerly "great men" now brought back to the life. In one Alahel recognized one of his brothers in arms, Tharn, Knight of the Lion. The Crane Warriors are one of the most effective troops of Acheron and each one is equipped with a Blade of Carnage.
Creation (The)
Certain legends claim that at the origin of the World, many gods fell from the vault of heaven... The Magicians of Darkness are convinced that these celestial powers were not destroyed, but that some sleep, healing their wounds.
Cruel
The blade of torture that responds to the orders of Sophet Drahas.
Cullinahn
It is said that in the Era of the Gods, when men had not invented Time, Light and Darkness worked together to safeguard Creation. The balance born of this fragile collaboration between Good and Evil materialized in the shape of an immense diamond of purity and blackness: Cullinahn. When Time was created, the gods waged war amongst themselves, and Cullinahn exploded in an infinite number of fragments and dispersed through Creation.
Cypher Lukhan
Keratis champion, a true exception within an already powerful caste. Has succeded in rising to a top rank by combination of both physical and mental (rare for a Keratis) capabilities. Instills a deep sense of respect within his fellow Keratis Warriors.
Daekin the Arial
The greatest bard in the kingdom of Alahan, he has traversed all of the roads of Alahan, telling the history of the kingdom to its inhabitants.
Danakil
One of the oldest fortresses of Dirz. Theatre of bloody battles and large scale military operations. It has always resisted the attacks of the enemies of the Scorpion, without any exceptions. This strategic fortified town is also called "the door of the desert".
Danu
One of the divinities who created men. It is she whom the clan of Sessairs venerates. She represents the earth, source of life but also of fury. She is represented at Sessairs by her lovers, the Warriors of Danu.
Darelh
Captain of the guard of Cadwallon, veteran of many battles. Has a particular rancour towards the Harlequin.
Darkness Hunters
Special section within the Inquisition, created by Imperial Iquisitor Corwin Khorto. After the revolt of the alchemists, lead by Dirz, and their escape from Akkylaine, Khorto decided to create a special corps within the Inquisition. In fact, it was given the responsability to supervise the faith in Merin, to sanction anyone deviating from it and deviant scientists. However no one was given the task of sanctioning Magicians, which is the primary task now appointed to the Darkness Hunters. The purpose of this new branch of the Inquisition is to bring to an end the dark corruption of the lands of Akkylaine, putting evil magicians to the torch... Today, the Darkness Hunters scour the Empire and the path of the Imperial Crusade, elminating any supernatural resistance under the supervision of the Grand Exorcist, their leader. Darkness Hunters have been known to say that if Inquisitors are Merin's blessed weapons, they are the ones expressing his divine Will.
Dark Tree
Inexhaustible source of darkness, sought by the Gorgon. The Gorgons' sceptre is a branch of the Dark Tree and she seeks to reconstitute the power of the tree in order to awake her bretheren.
Deliverance
According to legend, Deliverance would contain a part of the divine essence of Arin, the Father of the barhan Gods. The weapon certainly has extraordinary properties, which can only have been inspired by a god...
Den Azhir, Duke of Cadwallon
Duke of Cadwallon. Also called Master of the honest City, Prince of the Country-Less, or King of the Banished.
Desar, Master Selenite
Master Selenite. His palace, in Tycho, shelters the heritage of the Ylliaars.
Dhalilia
Demon queen of vice.
Dirz
Griffin, lead the escape of those who later became the Alchemists of Dirz, also called Scorpions.
Diisha Forest
The secular forest of the Wolfen, made up of gigantic trees with dense foilage.
Dorsal Blades
Equipment particular to certain Scorpion troops and dignitaries, created by directly grafting into the spinal cord of the Alchemist one or more pairs of Blades, which make it possible for their carrier to instinctively control them like their arms or legs.
Dragon Bow
An object given to Hogarth the Colossus by the Cynwall elves. The arc is made from sacred wood and bent with the wing leather of a Dragon of the Summits.
Drugs
The Alchemists of Dirz utilise various types of drugs, poisons and other toxic substances: they preserve each one of their personal mixtures in enormous syringes...
Drunes

Dun
Dun means Strength or Power in keltish. It is also how the kelts name their strongholds. Dun Scaith for example.
Dun Scaith
The battle of Dun Scaith is a famous battle which saw a clash between the Drunes and Sessairs. During this battle Baal killed a Formor - the energy released by the death of the creature fused him with his mount and thus he became a centaur.
Dwarf Archivists
Regarded for thier obsessional zeal, so much so that its a recurring theme of Dwarf humour. One such saying is that if a document disappeared from the surface of the world, it could be said that it "was archived".
Dwarven Boiler
Basic element of Dwarf technology, mixing steam and magic, and releasing an energy which can be channeled to other equipment that uses steam.
Edict of Merin
Sacred text which defines the mission of the Darkness Hunters: to track down heretics, to flush out evil beings, and to punish Magicians who follow the Way of Darkness. Hand written by the Imperial Iquisitor Corwin Khorto, the original manuscript has powerful antimagic virtues, and is under the guard of the Grand Exorcist, the chief of the order of Darkness Hunters. Each member of the Order permenantly has a copy of the Edict of Merin about their person, signed by the Grand Exorcist in person, along with a copy of the Codex of Merin.
Elemental
Manifestation of the power of an element, resulting from the crossing of the Elemental Kingdom and the world of Aarklash. Thus, a Elemental called upon by a magician, has a physical form in Aarklash that represents a rough incarnation of its corresponding element. Moreover each Elemental has the capacity to generate a, usually terrifying, elemental projection.
Evael
Called "the perverse", Queen of Ashes, partner of Sophet Drahas.
Executioner (The)
The most famous of the assassins of Emperor Octave IX.
Experimental Ammunition
Ammunition developed by Fenggar for bombardiers and in order to prepare for Argg-Am-Ork. Effective, but it remains unstable.
Familiars
The Familiars are minor manifestations of an element, originating also, just like elementals, from an Elemental Kingdom. Bound to a mage, they bring him knowledge of spells from the element from which they spring forth, along with an augmentation of power, varying according to their element...
Fayes
Creatures of elemental essence, linked to the Daikinee Elves.
Fenggar
Renowned blacksmith, persistant, answers to the nickname of "Iron Hand", has spent a large portion of his career trying to limit the risks of incidents with boilers which are used on steam engines. Has invented the pressure regulator. Is in charge of the maintenance of every machine of the Brotherhood of Bronze. Fenggar is also Bal-Kahn's brother. Since he has lost the use of his legs, he has spent many nights sifting through mountains of parchments.
Feyd Mantis
Grand Duke of Acheron, leader of the Necromancers under whose authority are the Questors and great master of the Order of the Ram.
Fiann
Goddess of War to the Sessairs.
Fire of Merin (The)
The fire of Merin burns in the heart, arm and in the eyes of his children. The gaze of Merin is the expression of the strength of the one god, which paralyzes and consumes the enemy.
Flesh Golem
A monsterous creature of Acheron. One struck down Urland of Montvert, grand knight of Alahan, and another was responsible for the death of Tharn, champion of Alahan.
Forest of Allyvie (The)
Region of Aarklash which includes deep woods in which live the Cynwalls Elves. The wood used in making the Nave of Winds came from these forests.
Forest of Ashinan (The)
Forest in the heart of the Akkyshan lands.
Forest of Webs
A forest in the Akkyshan lands.
Forge Guardians
Rank within the Caste of the Blacksmiths.
Formor
Evil creatures which accompany the Drunes on the battlefields.
Fortress of Kaiber (The)
Fortress guarding the entrance to the lands of Acheron.
Fusion Hammer
Name of the hammer carried by Kahinir, made from the metal used in best Dwarf armour (that of the Kohr warriors). What makes this weapon special is that it contains a mixture of lava and lead in fusion. Enemies with little armour or resilience are crushed by the hit and then burned by the heat.
Gae Bolga
Lance furnished with long points of sharp-edged flint: the wounds caused when this powerfull weapon is withdrawn from a victims body are thus devastating. This mythical weapon is said to have belonged to Cernunnos itself. Currently wielded by Tanath.
Gems of Darkness
Black, but always changing, traveresed with blood venules that never seem to rest. Acheron has the only source of Gems of Darkness, thanks to a direct portal to hell.
Gesas
Gesas are charms with multiple properties. The ritual of creation of Gesa are long and exhausting because they do not call upon the utilisation of mana gems. The effects of a gesa are different according to what was created by the druid. Moreover each tribe in general has a particular gesa whose secret is jealously kept.
Ghouls
Vile beings that live in the hollows and sewers of all the cities of the continent. These frightening creatures fight in the ranks of the troops of Acheron.
Giddzit
Known as "The Bell ringer". Goblin shaman, who has the ability of unleashing the anger of the elements on his opponents.
Gniards
Goblin caste, considered by the rest of the Goblins to be noxious animals. Resemble small goblins.
Goblin Pirates
One of the Goblin clans, to which the Black Troll belonged.
Golem
Physical creature created by the Alchemists, can be controled by a Homoncule.
Goreth

Powerful undead magician, whose origin remains mysterious. It is related to Banshees (her head holds on to her shoulders thanks to a lock) and only seems to have crossed the doors of death. Grave Guardian
The Grave Guardians form a caste within the Wolfen people, which appeared following the sacrileges commited by many people. Whilst they gaurantee to protect the integrity of the tombs of all the packs, they have made a promise to guard the tomb of their brother, their father, or a friend. Some Guards traverse Aarklash to find the animated corpses of their close relations, so they may at last have the peace of eternal rest. They also try to find tribal weapons and objects which were captured. They live between tombs, so as not to torment the souls of those that do not know the eternal peace. Capable of extreme violence, they often fight "plunderers of tombs" and have a particular hatred towards the Alchemists of Dirz, the warriors of the Drunes Clan and the Goblins of No-Dan-Kar.
Great Horned-One
Title carried by the Master of Hunting among the Kelt hunters. On the death of the Great Horned-One, the title and rights pass onto the Young Horned-One No one can challenge the Master of Hunting, who retains his title until his death. He represents the experience of the caste, whereas the Young Horned-One symbolises his vigorous blood and continual renewal.

Since the dawn of time, following the example of the wolves which they resemble, Wolfen emit long howls to celebrate their victories. They also learned how to use their powerful voice to coordinate their actions and thus to overcome armies larger and better equipped than them. But with war, the clash of arms covers the howls as surely as a skin of animal would choke a fire. This is why the use of the Horns of the Pack has spread among the most quarrelsome Wolfen packs: the Horn is a symbol of the unity of the Wolfen people and is passed down from Chief of Pack to Chief of Pack. Each Horn of Pack has its own sonority. Wolfen can recognize them and the intonations implied.

Griffin dignitary belonging to the Warrior-Mage caste. The Inquisitors of the Akkylanian empire draw their power from their boundless religious fervor. Judges and executioners, they are tasked with enforcing the teachings set forth by the Imperial dignitaries, so that the straying flock may find the way back onto the just path of the Emperor. They must keep watch over the faith in Merin, sanctioning the deviants and malevolent scientists. As Kelgar the Pious has written: "One does not become an Inquisitor, one is born an Inquisitor." The Inquisitors are a powerful caste, for they are the eyes and the path of the Emperor. Kelt Clans
The Kelt society is one of the most disparate peoples, it is divided into several clans which each follow a particular way. These clans can consist of twenty to... twenty million members. Most known among Aarklash are the Sessairs and Drunes but many others exist, like the Egann clan or the clan of Aran. The clans themselves are then divided into small villages which are called Tribes. A clan is composed of a multitude of tribes, which gather at the time of great battles. It even happens that some clans or tribes clash between themselves...
Kelt Druids
Name given to the Magicians among the Kelt barbarians. They are those who maintain the harmony between the men of their clan and the gods, more particularly Danu. They are the guardians of the rites and accomplish them during all the phases of the life of the clan. Their tool, a symbol of power, is the bill-hook which, amongst other things, allows them to put an end to the life of the prey and the end of a hunt, so that the cycle of life remains and thus they never lack food.
Kelt Hunters
The Kelt Hunters have a special role to play in Kelt society. They are guardians of the tribes, who patrol to protect the villages and can live by themselves, alone in the wild. They are very respected by the Kelts because of their importance and they are the only ones capable of fighting with ranged weapons and hand weapons at the same time.
Kerozen
Goblin shaman who, during an expedition in deep water, discovered a network of underwater caves and became lost. No one knows what happened, but when the Mage came back to the surface, he had lost his mind and was speaking in an unknown language. Even worse, a Kraken in larval stage had grafted itself to his back, like a clam to a rock! Since then, Kerozen has taken his place back amongst the crew as diver. In fact, the Kraken on his back allows him to breathe under water... It even seems to communicate with his inseperable host sometimes, although in a symbolic manner. Maybe the odd relation which binds them can explain the odd behaviour of the Goblin and the overdeveloped intelligence of the squid... But what will happen when the Kraken reaches maturity? Moreover, the larva seems attracted to sources of magic.

A bloody battle is then waged all night between them, at the end of which the shaman of the victorious pack wins the right to bear the fragment for 144 consecutive cycles. Once this time has passed, he must then bury it in a safe place and keep the location a secret for the rest of his days.

Mystic Warriors
The Mystic Warriors are a spontaneous evolution resulting from the Orc genome. Badly refined, they were not chosen to be used as parents for the current Orcs. The ancient demonic weapon wielded by the Coryphaeus. Legend says that Feyd-Mantis's last bard was named Velabri. His talent was so exceptional that the immortals themselves begged for his favors! An infernal lord gave him the Orpheon in exchange for a recital. The weapon's powers then drew the bard to Darkness. And it is Velabri who, with Rhea of Brisis, persuaded Feyd-Mantis to join the accursed order of the Black Togas.
Rat God (The)
Supreme god of the Goblins, accompained by a court of a thousand and one rats. Goblin Shaman can call upon their god by various means to give courage to their army during a battle.
Red Lionness (The)
Champion of Alahan. With the real name Laureena Tilius, this daughter of a knight learned the art of war in secrecy with her younger brother. She joined the army masquerading as a man. As a Paladin knight, she guided her career towards service of the gods. It was during a battle against the Orcs that she was wounded. Vanguard of the alchemical swarms, eliminating pockets of resistance. They also supervise the territories of the North of Syharhalna, and slow down any forces who try to penetrate it. Their equipment is particular: they breath pollutant gases identical to those which one finds in their birthing tanks. The neurotropic substances with which their organism is saturated give them an exceptional resistance to damage... Moreover, they carry a strangling flail which allows them to ensnare their adversary between his claws.

The Skull Sabre is without a doubt Captain Krill's most precious posession. He never lets it out of sight and refuses to fight with any other weapon. Warriors of Danu
The warriors of Danu are her lovers. Every year, at the time of the festivals of the Earth Goddess, the bravest of warriors battle and kill each other to determine which of those among them are the most powerful. Those which survive become the lovers of the Goddess and her divine demonstration on the grounds of Aarklash. In battle, Danu the Mother Goddess does not like to see her children perish and thus fills her lovers with all her anger against the murderers of her people, transforming the warriors of Danu into Spasam Warriors, powerful warriors representing all the rage of the Kelt Goddess. These repeated transformations mean that the warriors of Danu seldom live more than seven years.

Combat technique of the Akkyshans Elves, in the form of warlike dances which the Girls of Lilith practise.
Whisper Strips
A Wolfen enchantment technique consisting of either writing the names of opponents killed in combat in order to strengthen the bearer of the strips, or using them as a divination method: A blank strip is crumpled in the closed fist of the Oracle before being unfolded and interpreted.
Young Horned-One
Title held by the best hunter of the tribe, who will take the place of the Great Horned-One upon the latter's death. Each year, at the Great Hunt, the title of Young Horned-one is contested. The contenders measure up to one another in contests of strength, accuracy and courage. The winner can then challenge the current Yound Horned-one in a ritual combat to take his place.
