Hooley’s Premiere

Hood and Hyatt’s musical forays were always exceptional, but Uncle Walt's Band seemed too hard an act to follow. Die-hard Uncle Walt fans showed up, including your humble narrator, wondering how they could possibly match the amazing acoustics of UWB? But follow they did, fused with the worthy talents of Steve Runkle, Jimbeau Walsh, and Tommy Goldsmith. This mighty, mighty, creative rock quintet—the Contenders—quickly developed a loyal following. The 'ders frequently returned to their packed basement "Cavern" known as Hooley's. Excitement always ensued.
