In addition, you can choose a day in the surrounding countryside, photographing the myriad fountains at Villa D'Este, exploring Villa Adriano, dining amongst the ruins in high style, and hiking up the ancient Tuscolo along with the flock of sheep, all the while capturing the enchanting scenery.

Diane Epstein's photographs have been described as painterly, impressionistic with a surpirsingly unusual and intimate point of view. She has exhibited her photos in some of the most beautiful venues in Italy, and has lived in Rome for over a dozen years. Let Diane show you the way. Regardless of your knowledge of the techniques of photography, you can further develop your own distinctive style. Hone into whatever it is you are drawn to, so that your story unfolds as if it were a reflection of parts of yourself, your imagination and your dreams. Whether it be the high style of a well-heeled romana in juxtaposition to the textured walls and a worn down doorknob, or the curved movements of the abundant fountains, reflecting the water, as you move in on the sculpted wet face of a Bernini masterpiece. Zoom in on the shadows of the ruins amongst the Roman pines as you practice selecting smaller scenes from the big picture.

The goal is to be fully present with yourself and what you’re doing to improve your perception while observing the sounds, the aroma, the rhythm, the mood, and the emotion so you can bring it all together in your own unique portrait of Rome, or the hilltowns, while meandering through the heart of history.

CAPTURING YOUR UNFORGETTABLE ROMAN HOLIDAY

If you are coming to Italy for a special occasion, or spending a holiday with your family, you can engage Diane Epstein to photograph you amongst the myriad sites in Rome and the surrounding countryside for a day or two. She’ll make your stay playful and enjoyable, exploring both secret angles and well-known scenes, such as those from classic films like “Roman Holiday.” Become a part of the romance of Rome and carry these special memories home with you. Whether you choose an early morning, nearly solitary walk down the Spanish Steps or to be taken to the apartment where Gregory Peck met Audrey Hepburn to begin their day on the town, you will be enchanted through the cobblestone streets. She’ll sneak a shot of you on a motorino by the Coliseum. Or she will take you to the verdant part of Rome and walk up the Palatine Hill to explore some hidden views above the Forum, and then down into the hidden alleyways where she can take shots of you with local artisans or at the marketplace. And you may also want some shots of the magnificent Pantheon or St. Peter’s Basilica, whether you are in the scene, or not. Diane will find just the right light and locations for you.
