Iron Bell Zendo

Bodhidharma: The First Ancestor of Chan (Zen)
Soto Zen Buddhist Practice in Sacramento
Named to reference bells rung in Zen monasteries, the Iron Bell Zendo provides an opportunity to join with others to meditate, study Buddha's teaching, and apply Zen practice in everyday life. Mondays, 7:00 - 8:45 p.m.
Public Transit:
The monthly schedule includes periods of sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks by visiting teachers, group discussions, and opportunities for individual instruction with our guiding teacher, Rev. Myo Lahey, and other Zen teachers. Ceremonies, bowing, and chanting are a regular part of the evening. The forms practiced at Iron Bell are inspired by the teaching and tradition of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi and the San Francisco Zen Center.
Iron Bell Zendo is maintained and supported by the community of those who practice together. There are no membership requirements to participate in its activities. Donations are invited to support the room rental, visits by teachers, and other zendo activities.
