• Description:

- Do you have a Digital Camera?

- Do you have lots of photos / images in your computer?

If you answered YES to any of the above, you will find rePhormat very helpful.

rePhormat is a batch photo / image processing application that will allow you to:

images in your computer or digital camera.

Some examples of things that you can do:

- download the photos in your camera using a smaller size/compression for backup or transfer purposes like sending them quickly via email, upload them to a website, etc.

- download the photos in your camera saving them in a user selected format: TIFF, BMP, PICT, etc.

- reduce the size of photos stored in your computer for backup or transfer purposes.

- add adorners to your photos: border and or creation date

- convert from many different formats to one format, i.e JPEG

- resize photos that have different sizes to the same size.

- save the rePhormating parameters in documents and use them as templates, so that you don't have to reset these parameters every time.

Version 1.2: What is new ?:

- Camera sheet: can now select which camera images to:

- Rotate downloaded originals, for camera rotated images.

- Bug fixes:

• Requirements:

- Requires Mac OS X v10.2 or higher

- monitor resolution of at least 800x600

• Download:

rePhormat 1.2 (sit, 1.5 Mb)

• Installation:

Just drag the rePhormat application to your Applications folder (or any other folder where you have write access).

• Instructions:

To use rePhormat, you have to do 3 things:

1) specify the source images:

a) files / folders: you can do it in two ways:

i) drag and drop:

just drag the files or folders from the Finder into the white files/folders area

ii) click on the or buttons. A navigation dialog will come up where you will be able to select your source(s).

Note: for folders, rePhormat will also look into any subfolders.

or

b) ALL the images in a connected and turned on digital camera:

just connect your digital camera to your computer. It doesn't matter if it is

before or after launching the application. rePhormat will recognize it.

2) specify the destination:

a) select a destination folder or use the current one.

By default, rePhormat will create 2 directories in the same directory as the application:

i) "rePhormated Images": will contain the rePhormated images
ii) "rePhormat Downloaded images": only applicable when the source is a digital camera. At the end of the process will contain the original non rePhormated images. The idea here is to save you one extra step, by being able to download the originals from the camera, while rePhormating them also into a separate folder, so that you can keep the originals (possibly large files) for printing, backup, etc while using the rePhormated ones (possibly smaller files) for uploading them to a server, send by email, etc.

b) source: will rePhormat the source (not applicable if the source is a digital camera). Don't use this option if you want to keep the original images, or make a backup of them before.

3) in the Settings sheet, select the operations you want to be performed:

- Export: select the file type for your rePhormated images and the resolution (dpi). You can also select specific options depending on the selected export type, like compression, quality, etc.

- Resize: choose if you want to resize your images or not. If so, specify an enclosing rectangle or a scale percentage (will always maintain proportions).

- Border: choose if you want to add a faded color or a pattern border.

- Creation Date: choose if you want to add the creation date. If so, specify it's location, size, font and color.

- Reshape: choose if you want to reshape your images or not. If so, select one of the predefined shapes or the "?" so that the application selects them at random.

rePhormat will allow you to save / open your sources and settings in a document.

You can also set the defaults for the settings (used when you open a new document) in the Preferences window. Note that any changes in the preferences will only affect new documents and not the currently open ones.

As soon as you are finished doing the above, click the rePhormat button. A progress bar will show up informing you about the status of the process.
