Amy’s Photo Gallery Week 1 Pictures [01/01/2000 - 07/07/2000]
There she is, on her first evening. After a whole day of excitement, breathing air for the first time.

Another view of Amy, closeup.
Taken about 30mins after being born. The amazing part was that through a combination of shooting in natural light, plus some scanner/software tricks, I managed to clean up the color somewhat.

Sleeping like the proverbial baby…
Again, this was shot just after she was born. Fortunately, the nurses managed to clean up all the gunk and other stuff from her. Otherwise, the picture would have been quite wierd looking.

Amy’s first Bath.
Guess one needs a good bath after a hard day’s work, being born and all.

I was so engrossed in the bath–time activities, that the nurse had to remind me to take a picture of her.

Amy’s first Bath 2.
She really loves getting her head soaped and rinsed. Guess the day will come when she’ll pay $150 for a hair–dresser to do the same.

Meantime, I am more than
happy to do this for free.

Certified Y2K baby cybergirl.
Here’s the hospital’s certificate. The birth certificate will come in 6 weeks’ time.

Being held in Grandma’s arms.
She’s quite alert when she’s awake, with her little eyes scanning the envrionment and listening to our conversations.

Sleeping in her Car Seat.
She loves sleeping in her car seat. We’ve taken to putting her in there even when she needs to sleep at home.

Car Seat snooze.
Part of the problem with such a young and tiny baby is that your cribs are usually too large. Amy prefers being tight and snug in her car seat.

Janice and Baby, leaving the Hospital.
Janice, looking much better, less tired and very excited about bringing Amy home.

We had to take the mandatory hospital exit ride on the wheel chair.

Me with Amy in my arms.
This is one of the rare shots of myself. What to do? I’m usually the photographer and it’s very difficult to shoot yourself, with a baby in your arms…

Grandpa and Grandma.

Janice reading to Amy, while Adolf snoozes…
Janice has started reading to Amy, who is usually quite alert around 10pm to midnight.

Adolf has also been very very good– staying close by, watching and very protective.

Week 1 Notes
I’m putting in more images now. There’s not all that much to document for now, considering that Amy is alternating between sleeping, eating, pooing cycles.

The output from this little girl is pretty amazing, and we have quite a few kg of expended diapers to prove it.
