Innis Point Bird Observatory Baillie Birdathon Day

May 9, 2009

Interested in taking part in a Birdathon to support Innis Point Bird Observatory (IPBO) but unsure of how to go about it or worried that you don’t know enough about birding?  If so you should consider joining in the fun of the IPBO Baillie Birdathon Day!

On May 9th, Jude Phillips will be doing her Birdathon Day for IPBO and you are invited to join her!  Starting at Innis Point, Jude’s route will take her to some of Ottawa’s best birding spots including Britannia, the Airport area and Gatineau Park.  This is an exciting time of year to be birding, when almost anything is possible and previous year’s IPBO Birdathon Days have tallied over 100 species for participants!  The focus of the day is on having fun and there is plenty of opportunity to learn more about field identification of birds by sight and song.  Feel free to participate for the whole day, or for just a few hours, it’s up to you.  Don’t worry if you don’t have a car – car pooling will be organized.

Participation in the IPBO Birdathon Day is simple – just follow these steps:

1.     Complete and return the coupon below, by doing this you will be automatically registered for the Baillie Birdathon and will receive a full Birdathon information package;

2.    Follow the tips and advice in your information package to gather sponsors to support your Birdathon; and

3.    RSVP with Jude at jude.phillips@gmail.com to let her know that you will be participating so she can coordinate the start time and other logistics with you.

You can then look forward to joining Jude and the group on May 9th for an enjoyable day of birding.  For those who wish to relax with dinner and drinks after the day of birding, a reservation will be made at a local pub.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Jude Phillips (jude.phillips@gmail.com).

If you would like to support IPBO by participating in the

Innis Point Baillie Birdathon Day, please complete and return the coupon below.
