Ayuthaya
 
Before Bangkok it served as capital of Thailand from 1350 - 1767. The Burmese sacked Ayuthaya in 1767, destroying most Buddist temples and antiquities. Great day trip 1 hour north of Bangkok.

After excursion we shopped at one of the many gourmet markets in Bangkok
then caught live performance in shopping center. gotta love the air conditioning
Chef Richard dazzled us with a sublime dinner at their apt
