iPod Viewer now supports localization for other languages! Before localizing iPod Viewer, make sure it doesn't already support your language. If you are not sure that you have the latest version of iPod Viewer, click the Download link to the left, which always points to the latest version. Just replace your old copy of iPod Viewer with the one you just downloaded.
If you wish to localize iPod Viewer, click here to download the StuffIt archive for localization. When you expand the archive, you will see 2 items: the localization instructions and the United States English .lproj folder.
The .lproj folder contains all the files that need to be localized. As I am only familiar with the English language, I am depending on you to provide and update the localizations for other languages. When new elements of iPod Viewer need to be localized, they will be added to the StuffIt archive available from this page. If you would like to be contacted when the localization needs to be updated, let me know. If someone else is already handling the localization for a particular language, I will tell you.
As for the instructions in the archive, make sure you follow them. All steps must be followed before I will add the localization to iPod Viewer. All elements (.nib files, help files, .strings files) must be localized before you can consider yourself finished. This includes all windows, menus, drawers, views, tool tips, etc. that contain static text. You should be familiar with Interface Builder to edit the .nib files. Make sure you save the .nib files in 10.2 format only. I suggest testing your localization before emailing it to me. You can resize user interface items so that they fit neatly, just make sure you don't break any of the connections in the .nib files. The instructions explain how to ensure that this doesn't happen.
