Version 3.0
-
iPod Viewer can now display and transfer AAC-encoded songs that are on your iPod.
-
iPod Viewer can now display the playlist information on your iPod. Just click on the playlist
name to view the songs in that playlist.
-
iPod Viewer can add transferred songs, and the playlists with which they are associated, to iTunes.
-
You can have iPod Viewer rename transferred files that would otherwise be duplicates of songs already
on your computer.
Version 2.0.1
-
iPod Viewer now supports localization for other languages! If you wish to localize iPod
Viewer, click on the Localization link on the left.
-
You can set a preference for how iPod Viewer reacts when it tries to transfer a song file to a
location where that file already exists. You can choose to always replace the old file with
the one from the iPod, always keep the old file, or have iPod Viewer ask you each time this happens.
This can be set in the preferences dialog (Command-;).
-
You can play a song by double-clicking the song in the main window. A drawer will open on the
bottom of the window which will allow you to control the playing of the song. The interface for
playing songs is the same as the interface you see for QuickTime movies. When you click the
Close button in the drawer, the song stops playing and the drawer closes.
Version 2.0 (requires MacOS X v10.2 Jaguar)
- There is a preference dialog (Command-;) where you can choose to have transferred songs arranged in folders according to any combination of artist, album, and genre. You can also select a font and font size that will be used to display the iPod's MP3 information.
- When you import songs from your iPod, the song information is saved in your preferences folder. This is done so that the next time you import songs from that iPod, it can use data from this stored information to speed up the import process.
- You can also burn MP3 CDs. Just select the songs you wish to burn and click the "Burn MP3 CD" toolbar item, and follow the on-screen instructions. The discs that iPod Viewer burns are ISO9660 Version 2, which means the discs you burn should work on anyone's computer regardless of platform.
Version 1.5.2
Version 1.5.1
- Fixed bug some users were having that caused application to unexpectedly quit during importing.
Version 1.5
- You can now drag and drop an iPod onto the MP3 file table and it will import the MP3
files from the iPod.
- A toolbar has been added to the main window. From here, you can import MP3s from
an iPod, transfer selected files, and search through MP3s in a way similar to iTunes.
- Importing MP3s is now done in a separate thread to increase application responsiveness.
- The import panel detects when you mount and unmount iPods. So now you don't have to
have your iPod mounted before you choose to import.
