Summer 2006 I was invited by President Bobby Freeman at Newport News, Public Art Foundation to make a Marquette for a sculpture at Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Virginia USA. October the same year I was asked to present my idea for President Paul Trible and Spring 2007 I was commissioned to make the sculpture ELEMENTS.
November 2 Elements is unveiled by Joe S. Frank, Mayor Newport News, Paul Trible, President CNU, Bobby Freeman, President Public Art Foundation and art students/faculty at CNU in a beautiful ceremony at the circle of Avenue of the Arts and Shoe Lane followed by a reception at the new Tribles Library.
Tuesday October November 28 Elements arrives on a truck at CNU, Newport News. Bobby Freeman, Harry Gorden and Keara Mc Martin ensure everything is in place to get started. Harry Gorden with his team unload and implement. Dr. Michelle Erhardt with faculty and art students support, follow up, discuss the mounting.
