Friday October 4,

Enrico has been working at the Institute since !986, and was a wonderful help during the installation and when taking down the exhibition. He selected Waves of Inger since the piece gives harmony and movement at the same time.

        Thursday October 3,

Frederick Whitling has a postdoctoral fellowship at the Swedish Institute. He is currently working on the history of the Swedish Institute and other foreign academies in Rome. He has been at the institute on and off since 2004. Frederick is inspired by VESTITA for the unique new texture (which he has never seen before) in a 'classical' presentation of a body.

              Wednesday October 2,
Stefania Renzetti has been working at the Swedish Institute for 20 years. She has never lived in Sweden but is fluently in the language since she had Swedish friends from when she was a child. Later on she studied Swedish at the University. Stefania's favourite is MAIALINO SPAVENTATO of Diana. She likes the idea of creating art from trash (marble).

Håkan Hökerberg has received 3 years grants from the Swedish Science Council (Vetenskapsrådet) to study Fascist architecture in Italy. Håkan has a fascination for design and architecture. He selects IL PASSAGGIO as his favourite sculpture, since he sees a beautiful designed chair with a very interesting textile surface.

Margareta Ohlson Lepscky, HR and financial director at the Swedish Institute has also a background in archaeology and art history. Margareta is very moved by ISEDE LEGGE STRAIATA SUL DORSO DELL'IPPOPOTAMO, the little girl reading so meditative i her book when laying on the back of the hippo.

                                Tuesday November 1,
Jakob Tronet is pastor of Stenkumla church on Gotland and graduate student at Uppsala University where he writes about Max Thurian ecumenical theology. Jakob likes the very big sculptures and La DONNA DI COLONNATA. Her curls are like columns and he likes the rough block of marble with the sensitive details of her face.

                                      Monday November 31,
Simon Malmberg is research assistant at the Swedish Institute in archaeology and antique history, running his own projects. Already when Ziggy's was working on La GRANDE STANCHEZZA IL RETORNO, Simon was fascinated on the photos following the project on the Web Journal and the way this sculpture developed from the marble mountains. The favourite sculpture of Alicja Gradecka, who also works at the Swedish Institute, is the HIPPO by Yemisi. Geert Berkein, a Belgian architect visiting Rome was very enthusiastic and complimenting the exhibition.

                                                        Sunday October 30,
Märit Simonson is graduate student in museology from the University of Umeå; she is doing research on spatial architecture of museums. Marit is excited about the sensation of heaviness and the texture, from very rough to very fine, which Yemisi very nicely has expressed in the BABY RHINO

Sunday was also a wonderful day discussing how and why art influence us. Is the art I feel attracted to a projection about myself? Can we learn to understand ourselves through art?

Agneta Freccero, scientist on art conservation and antique colour techniques at the Swedish Institute in Rome (research in Pompeii and Rome) was inspired by four sculptures,
VESTITO and IL PASSAGIO representing her own energy, drive,
La BARCA of Dag representing contemplation and movement and
RITRATTO di JILL, from Lars also giving the sensation of contemplation, a complete sculpture but also being a fragment with the presence of the form of the stone from where the sculpture was created.

                                                                                Friday October 28,
Today we had 17 visitors, most of them young people. The first Art Review by Lorella Scacca, was also published in the art magazine "Art Apart of Cult(ure)", http://www.artapartofculture.net/2011/10/27/7-artists-norvegesi-da-carrara-a-roma-di-lorella-scacco/.

Pernille Aaskov, Erasmus fellow student from Århus University in Denmark, is intern for 3 months at the library of the Swedish Institute. Pernilla did choose the sculpture WINDMILLS by Alena and
IL PASSAGIO by Inger, since she likes the way the surface is treated on both sculptures.

                                                                                            Thursday October 27,
Liv D´Amelio works in the library at the Swedish Institute and she has fallen in love with "La MADONNA dei PORCILLINI" of Diana. Liv is moved by the details and the way Diana put human expressions to her animals.

Astrid Capoferro is head of the library and has also studied archaeology and epigraphy. Both Liv and Astrid have a Swedish mother and an Italian father. Astrid did choose the sculpture VESTITA of Inger because she likes the movement and the timelessness in the expression.

Early morning sun on the way to the Swedish Institute in Villa Borghese and at the sculpture DONNA di COLONNATA of Lars
