Ultimate Patagonia 3
We head for Cerro Torre, Monte Fitzroy and the Uppsala and Perrito Moreno glaciers. No more camping now--we sleep in beds!!

Still hiding...
....but now revealed--Mount Fitzroy
Cerro Torre--in morning cloud
View towards Lago Torre
Fitzroy up close
Cerro Torre--the ultimate climb
We just sat and gazed for over an hour
I think that must be..yes, Cerro Torre!
Just to prove I went there
Beautiful meadows on the way down
An almost clear view--very rare, I'm told
And yes, a very rare view of me--again!!
Bill Carmichael & Steve Conlon
Perfect conditions--may be blurred...
....with hand-held telephoto
Panoramic view--it was actually warm that day
A peak that is all ice--the "mushroom"
One last look.....sorry, no more now
El Chalten--frontier town
Uppsala Glacier from Lago Argentino
Speeding away from the glacier
Iceberg in blue...
...carved out by the wind
Estancia Cristina--unaccustomed luxury
Old sheep shearing shed--now a 5* restaurant
The perfect Argentinian lunch--with wine, siempre
A short stroll to glacier after that lunch
A glacier passed this way only...
30 years ago--new lakes appeared
Joe with rock falls--watch out below!!
Alice (Liske) down a rabbit hole
Sedimentary layers and lichens
A steep climb down--Luchi's speciality
They came to pick us up in the middle of nowhere!!
Polo anyone?
We head for the hills on horseback
My noble steed, Maceda
The horses wait while we lunch
Inside the gaucho hut--BBQ and vino
Joe and Mary-Ellen--in horse drag
Peterson-- looking more like his horse every day
We leave Estancia Cristina by boat
Perrito Moreno Glacier--awesome
It cracks and grumbles night and day
Part on the left created by 2004 "rupture"
Los Notros--our last night in Patagonia (sob!)
Evil Bill and Bad Bill in funereal mood in BA
Evita Peron's mausoleum in BA--we nearly joined her!!
