Speaking Truth
from the difficult-dichotomy
dept.

We
live in a "polite" society. Although there are many examples of rude behavior,
when it comes to speaking truth into a situation on difficult topics, we tend to
take the easy way out and be silent. Yet, it is important to know the
balance.
If someone does something we
hate, keeping it a secret is a lie. At the same time, if we spread lies, we are
fools. Combine the two ideas together and anyone who conceals his hatred is a
fool.
Sometimes there is no polite way
to reveal a truth, so we are left with a hard choice. The question is, what's
more important: "polite" lies or "hateful" truths?
