Dec 26, 2002 Toyota will introduce a new hybrid-like car, Vits U intelligent package with Toyota Intelligent Idling-Stop System. It has Super-CVT & 1.3 liter engine, with Li-ion battery for engine re-start and compressor for air-conditioner while idling-stop.

Present status of my Prius

Nov. 24, 2002. I use my car to go to work for 30 min a day. I feel it is not sufficient for 2nd battery, 12 V Pb cell, to charge to full. The 2nd battery is charged from 288 V NiMH battery, so if the 2nd battery gets old, more elecric current will be needed than new one. Some of the current will change to heat loss. The battery voltage is 11.7 V now.
