carnegie center moscow. it was a rainy, relaxing day overall.

made it out of the house in time to get tickets to the kremlin's armory
collection of art treasures. in the evening we were guests at elizabeth messud's
new home in moscow, where we enjoyed a wonderful meal while ingrid and sam
played with elizabeth and vasya's children.

some local advice, made our way to detski mir to try and find an electric

mundane-but-necessary getting of groceries and maintaining of the apartment. it
rained most of the day.

which means everything's open but no one's available for interviews. we had no
plan save perhaps a bit of recuperation from yesterday. we spent the day
shopping.

independence day (everything could be closed tomorrow). we got out of the
apartment about 11:30 and decided to walk to gorky park (we're always on the
lookout for a park where the kids can run on grass and swing on swings). it was
a long and interesting walk, and an unexpectedly hot and sunny day.

armory didn't work out because well, we got out of the house too late. but after
lunch we re-grouped and made our way to the zoo.

with memorial, a russian human rights umbrella organization. in the afternoon we
wandered over to the kremlin and g.u.m.

alums of harvard's kennedy school. in the afternoon it was shamil beno, the
former chechen foreign minister under dudayev.
