getting there, saying goodbye to Feena

an update on our preparations to go to Moscow

We are facing the prospects of losing our dear friend Feena, who will soon leave us to pursue a real life. here's a photo of her with peanut.

Our 21st wedding anniversary passed without too much fanfare. Ivan faced a first deadline for getting his seniors' papers graded and had almost no time to run out to get Monica's card and present. We celebrated by having a lovely dinner at Elephant Walk, and Ivan got Monica a combination mother's day/anniverary present in the form of a much-needed new wallet. Feena watched Ingrid and Sam for us.

Our visas arrived from the Russian embassy, but Ivan's last name is misspelled (Toet instead of Toft). We're bound to have all sorts of difficulties if we can't get it straightened out before we go, but time is short. Ivan also found a tiny 220-110 transformer for the trip, which begins Wednesday.

Monica's mom Joan is arriving Sunday.
