the polito wedding....my best friend's wedding.our whole reason for being in san francisco a
few weeks ago was for my best friend peter's wedding to his new bride elizabeth.
peter and i have been best friends since high school and it was so great to see
him finally get hitched!!! their wedding took place at st.kevin's church in san
francisco with a reception following at a family friend's pumpkin patch...how
cool is that?!!? also at this wedding i had the great pleasure of shooting with
the amazing anna
kuperberg
who totally stepped up to help me out on
this wedding. jaclyn had the rare pleasure of actually being a guest at this
wedding since grace was with us, so anna stepped ini and took her place. all
the images posted here are mine, hence no bride's prep since anna shot all that.
beware this is going to be a JUMBO
post!
on a side note, this wedding really drove home a point for me...just how important photography is to a wedding. peter and elizabeth put together their wedding relatively quickly and on a pretty tight budget with lot's of friends and family pitching in...and did a fantastic job by the way! it's pretty rare to be at a wedding with awesome mexican food served on paper plates, everyone in shots and t-shirts, lamas on the outskirts of the reception, a swimming pool filled with lima beans, etc. with the lack of all the "traditional" fanciness at the wedding, there was so much more emphasis on peter and elizabeth, and the love that had brought them together. anna and i had such a great time shooting the wedding because it had the key ingredients; love, a willingness for anything, and good photographers to capture it all :) i truly hope that we can be part of more weddings where photography is 80% of the budget :) ok, now on to the pix! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() so why most people were doing the hands of blessing....grace was making her funny face :) ![]() ![]() ![]() after the ceremony we took peter and elizabeth over to a totally run down part of town on the bay to do their first set of pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() then, for a total change in landscape we headed off to shoot around the farm where the reception was. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the happy couple on the small train that brought the bridal party into the reception...notice the perfectly placed "bee happy" :) ![]() the man, the myth, the legend...noah polito. ![]() ![]() ![]() and one last one...anna took this of us and grace...she was so into this cupcake! ![]() Posted: Sat - August 19, 2006 at 08:08 AM |
