the nguyen wedding

we had such a blast with nick and tammy at their engagement session and were so excited to shoot their wedding. this was our first buddhist ceremony and it was really awesome. for the majority of the ceremony, there were three monks chanting (which was very cool to listen to) and then nick and tammy took the five vows of marriage. it's always interesting to see the different ways a wedding is performed in different cultures and this was definitely one we'll remember. lots of color, lots of chanting, lots of very cool stuff happening. and to add to it, nick and tammy are vietnamese so they also had a jewelry ceremony back at nick's dad house. then we headed back to nick and tammy's house so they could change into their western wedding attire and head out for photos. they are so cute together and are so much fun to just hang out with. it was a long day (11 hours!) but it was totally worth every second. congrats guys!!!

at all asian weddings, there's always the competition... ;)

the reception was full of about 400-500 people and nick and tammy had to take a photo with every guest (not taken by us thankfully!). by around the 300th person, we pulled them outside for a little fun.
