you know you're a bad father when...
ok, so let me give a bit of back story
here....grace is about as stubborn and hardheaded as i am, add in being three
years old and you've got a pretty fun mixture :) so anyway, we have been trying
to teach her not to hit and throw things at us. her being a stubborn girl, if
you say no she just throws harder!
so yesterday i was in the office answering some emails and grace came in and started trying to crawl all over the chair, pull on my arms, etc...then she threw her dora the explorer doll at me...i told her to stop and that it wasn't ok....then gave it back to her...then of course she heaved it at my head as hard as she could! so here is where i suppose i could have handled it differently....but i took the low road, grabbed my scissors and cut dora's arm off.
that's right, i'm hardcore...don't mess with me ;)
maybe it's time to buy one of those parenting books or something....
p.s. if my behavior offends any of you perfect parents out there, please don't waste your time emailing me to tell me i am a terrible person and how i should parent correctly. i love my daughter very very very much, she loves me very very very much...end of story. she actually found the whole situation quite funny...she is not traumatized, she has not retaliated by breaking my computers, she hasn't become addicted to drugs, etc.... however, she hasn't thrown anything else at either of us for almost a week :)
