He worked as a teacher of photography at Matbaa Meslek Lisesi, Istanbul, until the last year before his death. He wrote two textbooks which are still in use as course books.
It is still a question mark for us whether he enjoyed teaching or being a photographer most. Certainly, a major part of his teaching was to give his students a feeling of art and humanity. All his life he took black and white photographs. A few times he had exhibitions but he preferred to keep his work for himself. Photography was his main touch with life. He did not have the chance to see all the new developments in the IT technology and its contributions to photography. Most probably he would have enjoyed that a lot. We as his family thank to his son in law Rasmus Kamper for preparing and maintaining this site. He digitalized and prepared the photographs displayed on the following pages. In this way we hope the work of Demir live until eternity.
