And,
By definition, shows that are "ending their runs" are doing so by mututal agreement among the network, the cast, and the production crew, and generally have "final" episodes (e.g. Seinfeld, Newhart, Roseanne, Wings, etc.); otherwise, they've been cancelled (e.g. Ellen, Cybill, Lois & Clark, Dallas, Murder She Wrote, etc.).
Here is the list of the TV shows that are ending their runs after many seasons at the end of the '98-'99 TV year:
Shows Ending Run Network ---------------- ------- Home Improvement ABC Mad About You NBC Melrose Place FOX The Nanny CBS The Parent 'Hood WBN Silk Stalkings USA Star Trek: Deep Space 9 Syn.
Here is the list of the TV shows from the '98-'99 season that are known to be cancelled. Again, to keep track of such things, shows that are new this season (i.e. this is the show's first season) have been marked in red; shows that are effectively or almost certainly cancelled are in "[...]":
ABC CBS NBC --- --- --- 20/20 (Sunday) The Brian Benben Show Caroline in the City America's Funniest Buddy Faro Conrad Bloom Home Videos Brother's Keeper Maggie Winters Encore! Encore! Cupid The Magnificent Seven Everything's Relative Fantasy Island Payne Homicide: Life on the Street The Secret Lives of Men Promised Land Lateline Strange World Sons of Thunder Newsradio Two of Kind To Have and to Hold Trinity Vengeance Unlimited Turks Wind on Water Working FOX UPN WBN --- --- --- Brimstone Between Brothers The Army Show Costello Clueless Hyperion Bay Fox Files DiResta Rescue 77 Getting Personal Guys Like Us Sister, Sister Guiness World Records Legacy Smart Guy Holding the Baby Love Boat: The Unhappily Ever After Next Wave Living in Captivity Mercy Point The Wayans Brothers Millennium The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer Wildest Police Videos The Sentinel World's Funniest Young Hercules Cable Syndication ----- ----------- Mystery Science The Crow: Stairway Theater 3000 (SCI-FI) to Heaven The Net (USA) Hard Copy Sins of the City (USA) Highlander: The Raven The Howie Mandel Show The Magic Hour Mortal Kombat: Conquest Nightman
This is the list of shows that appear to be "in trouble" (i.e. in danger of cancellation), with the network that the shows air on, and comments. By the way, if you see the word "retooling" next to a show you like, expect the worst, as network "retooling" almost always leads to a decline in the show's quality and usually ends with cancellation.
(NOTE: This list is mostly the opinion of this author, as influenced by media reports (e.g. The LA Times), and Internet scuttlebutt!)

And here is the list of the TV shows from the '97-'98 season that have been moved from old timeslots. The new airing times are also listed. As stated above, any shows that have been recently added to this list, will be underlined. (Shows will also be 'pruned' from this list after a month or two...)

Here is the list of shows that have been renewed for the '98-'99 TV season; special cases (i.e. those shows with more than a one-year renewal) are indicated by "(...)". To keep track of such things, shows that were new the '97-'98 season (i.e. the '97-'98 season was the show's first season) have been marked in red:

And here is the most up-to-date "mid-season replacement" list, which I will update as new shows start to appear (shows no longer airing, will be indicated in the list; check the "Hiatus" List, as well). For spring, any show that has replaced a cancelled show, or that has temporarily bumped an established show into 'hiatus', will be listed. (NOTE: Shows such as "The Magnficent 7" will not be listed here, as they are technically not "new" shows.)
