dampness [名] 湿気
damp [形] 湿った、ジメジメした、じっとりしている、湿気を帯た、[名] 湿気、湿り気
今日おいしく頂いた韓国岩のりの注意書きに「This package contains a packet of moisture absorbent chemical to protect the product from dampness (湿気). Do not eat this chemical packet. Keep away from children as soon as you open this package, please discard the small packet of the absorbent. 」と書かれていました。湿気というとhumidity がまっさきに思い浮かびますが、湿気は dampness とも言うのですね。
