I have recently started working as a county court advocate with a well known advocacy agency with frequent appearences on behalf of clients in the county court.
I am also the Managing Director
of Peak Intelligence Limited,
a telecommunications consultancy which I founded in 2004. Activities
have included work for a government minister in a country in Asia
Minor and work for a group of investors in Europe. My professional
CV can be found here. Peak Intelligence is also offering low-cost web hosting aimed at small enterprises and not-for-profit organisations (such as student societies, charities, community interest companies and clubs and societies).
As part of a career change from engineering and consultancy to law, I read Law with the Open University between 2002 and 2005 and undertook the Bar Vocational Court with the Inns of Court School of Law in London in 2007/8. I was called to the Bar of England and Wales by The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 2008 and am still seeking pupillage so that I can practice as a Barrister.
I was awarded an LLB
(Bachelor of Law) by the Open
University in late 2005 following four years of part-time study. I
was chairman of the Open University Law Society for the academic years 2004-2006 (acting chair from January 2005 until the AGM in July 2005) and sub-editor of the OULS Review from June 2004 until June 2006.
I created the OULS
web site and was webmaster until June 2006 (still acting webmaster pending the selection of a replacement).
I graduated with Honours in Physics with Electronics from the University of Southampton in 1984. I became a Chartered Physicist in 1990, a Chartered Engineer and a Registered European Engineer in 1991, a Chartered Scientist in 2004 and was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Physics in 2006.
I did voluntary work
at the Derby Law Centre, a charitable legal practice based in Derby,
England between mid-2004 and mid-2007. Latterly I was a volunteer advocate assisting with the help at court scheme at the county court providing representation for clients facing reposession of their property owing to rental or mortgage arrears. This involved taking clients instructions in conference, door-of-court negotiation with the landlord or lender and representation before a District Judge in chambers.
As part of that work I was also involved in preparing
witness statements for refugees and asylum seekers, investigating
utility bill discrepancies for people having difficulty with their
utility supplier and investigating employment rights.
I was webmaster
for the Derby Law Centre web
site and that of the East Midlands
Law Centre Partnership. I was involved in establishing a trading arm for the Law Centre - Access2Law.

activities please see the hobbies page.
