How can the PPSG help you? As stated in the PPSG mission statement, our goal is to help
parents and teachers be better equipped to handle the special needs of our high ability
children.
We hope to provide parents, educators, and communities with a non-judgmental forum to
discuss the special needs of our PEAK kids. In this forum not only the struggles but the
achievements will be discussed. We also talk about opportunities and programs available
for families and teachers.
We also do our best to offset some of the funding of teachers' costs when obtaining
endorsements for gifted and talented children. We do our best to also coordinate
necessary volunteers to support different teacher efforts to provide our kids with
wonderful academic enrichment activities.
We all learn from one another. Even the most experienced counselor, teacher, or parent
can benefit from joining the PPSG in one of our discussions. So many times we have heard
the words, "My son/daughter is EXACTLY like that!" The more people we enlist to join
the group, the more powerful and helpful we will become.
