-----------Transport-----------
Charlie the fisherman silently mounts the platform. When all six of you are ready, Flynn thanks you and advises everyone to relax. You feel a paralyzing jolt of power, all your senses are confused, and your mind feels like it is dancing with the world inside of a moving sausage grinder. In a few moments, everything comes together and you are standing on a platform in the middle of a field on a sunny morning. You have trouble remembering why and how you are here. But Ryone and Nitro see something different. As the jolt of power paralyzes you, you see beams of power from above strike you and your fellows, disassembling each of you bit by bit in tiny squares. You both see Charlie's head and Serena's arms disappear piecemeal, then you experience that mind-in-a-sausage-grinder sensation. Once on the platform in the field, Ryone finds the memory of the disassembling fading like a dream. Nitro remembers it clearly. [Everyone gets EPs for the mental experience they just went through.]
Flynn meets you on the platform and explains that you are on a transport pad and that some disorientation is to be expected. You are on the Game Grid and will be observed as you use your special skills to collect five red tokens. The experiment is over when you place five tokens on the pedestal near the transport pad or at sundown. You are on your own until then. If all five tokens are not collected, there will be no prize. He reminds you that the dangers you face should be taken seriously. In other words, it's a dangerous place, and the only way to get out is to gather the five tokens or live until sundown. Then Flynn disappears.
The pedestal Flynn mentions is next to the platform. Examination of the platform and pedestal reveals nothing but stone. Detect Magic reveals only a general sense of power. There is a door and frame nearby standing in the field. A number 1 is marked on the door. An invisible force stops you from going far in any direction. The door is available, though.
When you step through the door, nothing happens until you have all passed through in the same direction and shut it behind you. Then, the field changes into a forest clearing. The door you just closed is colored red and marked with an icon of a pedestal. Another door nearby is marked with the number 2 and colored blue. All is silent for the moment.

..Bulletin..I have updated the Gedanken T&T web site. Please visit it for rules and character info. I will attempt to update it each weekend. Bookmark it!
The 6th player has joined--Mistwalker_, playing the character Wendy Bumbletoe. You can find her character sheet on the Gedanken site.
Players--take a look at your character sheets and let me know if there anything that needs to be changed. I had to make a few adjustments. See the main page for more info.
I altered the end-of-game rules a bit. You may indeed keep your characters, though experience gained inside the Game Grid will be reduced. Death inside the Game Grid is not real, but only characters that finish the game will receive special rewards.
I will post the first action scenario tomorrow. There is nothing to post for the forest scene until then.
I invite the players to comment on how differences in the two rule systems affected the creation of their characters. Since the Myc stat is the only difference in character creation I have allowed, only the two people playing wizards need comment.

- Mistwalker_, you may find your character page here: http://homepage.mac.com/hutcherl/RPGs/mistwalker_/Wendy_Bumbletoe.html (I will put a link on the main page ASAP).
- Players, you should settle on a leader quickly. I suggest Wendy (chr 17) as one that others would naturally want to follow. Ryone and Serena have chr 15 so would make good choices, too.

I vote Serena as leader.
Sorry Wendy, I can't take a hobbit seriously enough to consider you a viable candidate.
Sorry Charlie, I can't take a woman called `Charlie Tuna' seriously either.
Sorry Ryone, first of all, I can't talk to you. And besides, you're an egghead. Nobody understands eggheads anyway. (AND a wizard. You're probably more interested in turning elves into manticores and other strange wizardly stuff than looking out for my interests, and a leader has to have some regard for his followers.)
Sorry Paddy, I don't like limericks.
That leaves me or Serena, and I'm not a leader, so...
I'm following Serena's lead.

Subject: Re: Gedanken: bulletin cont'd [Yahoo! Clubs: Blue Frog Tavern]OOC: That's okay. If I hadn't gotten such crappy rolls it'd be another matter, but with the stats she had I decided to make her new at this sort of thing anyway.
Just remember not to judge by appearances though. After all, it's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Doesn't look like my initial post took. This one actually comes before the previous post.
Gotta love Yahoo.> and your mind feels like it is dancing with the world inside of a moving sausage grinder.
Wasnít someone going to get slapped if they started dancing?
HmmmÖ Nitro thinks hardÖ
oO(>{Serena "Well you do seem quite gifted Ryone, but if you break into a dance number I'm going to have to slap you.")Ah, only Ryoneís getting slapped.
>In a few moments, everything comes together
I love it when a plan comes together.
>You have trouble remembering why and how you are here.
A common occurance for people who visit the Blue Frog.
>But Ryone and Nitro see something different.
I spy with my little eyeÖ ???
What does Nitro see thatís different?>As the jolt of power paralyzes you, you see beams of power from above strike you and your fellows, disassembling each of you bit by bit in tiny squares.
Eeew, gross.
>You both see Charlie's head and Serena's arms disappear piecemeal,
Blech.
>Once on the platform in the field, Ryone finds the memory of the disassembling fading like a dream. Nitro remembers it clearly.
Wow, thanks heaps.
Nitro will have nightmares for months.>[Everyone gets EPs for the mental experience they just went through.]
But Nitro is the only one who remembers getting them.
If the rest of you ask Nitro nicely- heíll tell you about them.>Flynn meets you on the platform and explains that you are on a transport pad and that some disorientation is to be expected.
Thanks. Nitro didnít realize that might be the case when people starting getting disintegrated.
> as you use your special skills
This puts Nitro at a severe disadvantage.

>I altered the end-of-game rules a bit. You may indeed keep your characters,
Hooray!
>though experience gained inside the Game Grid will be reduced upon return.
No big deal, if we can still use them.
You have my stamp of approval.
(Sorry- was that your foot?)
>Death inside the Game Grid is not real,
Hooray!
>but only characters that finish the game will receive special rewards and 'killed' characters will lose most of their experience points from the game grid.
Better than being dead.
>There is nothing to post for the forest scene until then.
That probably wonít stop us.
{{Serena --> I don't say much until we get out in the field. I grumble a little and then get a better grip on my Great Shamsheer and look at the others. See?
And that reminds me, Nitro changed his mind. Nitro will rescind his vote for Serena as leader.
Too pushy.
>Mistwalker: That's okay. If I hadn't gotten such crappy rolls it'd be another matter, but with the stats she had I decided to make her new at this sort of thing anyway.
Well, you ARE first levelÖ
>Just remember not to judge by appearances though. After all, it's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog
Nice mantra, one Iíve seen many times before.
Unfortunately, Iíve seen it used as the epitaph for a huge number of scrappy little dogs.
>{{Serena --> "Its extermination time!" I attack the nearest bug using my "fancy" sword.
Nitro changed his mind again. Nitro will again cast his vote for Serena.
Anyone who actually has the courage to use that as a battle cry has more than enough guts to run the showÖ
