It was a marginally successful year. Almost all of the perennials I planted in 2008 came back very well. Again, I failed pretty badly at vegetables. I think it's partly my fault and partly the weather's fault this year. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

My 2009 Garden Blog is basically done. I'm not a four-season grower, hell, I can barely keep up with the two seasons we have! LOL I did have some success though and some of the photos from my blog are posted below on Picasa Web Albums.

Good soil, as well as doing your research is key. I'm no expert, but I have learned from my mistakes over the years.

Maine's growing season is short and picking the right plants, for the right location is very important if you expect to enjoy your gardens. I don't have oodles of daylight sun and trying to grow roses has been a struggle, but when they're in bloom and not overrun with the god-awful japanese beetles, they're stunning.
