| | This is Hannah and this is her story. | |
| | | She was born in Tokyo. The red dot is her home. Downtown is circled. | |
| | "Hello Hannah. Happy Birthday! You're one minute old and very dirty!" | |
| | | She gets a quick cleaning and falls alseep for the first time. | |
| | After 6 days of resting, she comes home to a nice view of...er.. | |
| | | ...well perhaps she can't see Mt Fuji yet. | |
| | At nine days, she is alert. | |
| | | Very alert! And ready to meet her Japanese family. | |
| | So we bundle her up in her new hooded bunting. | |
| | | But she has an accident and a quick change of clothes is needed. | |
| | | ...and we're off to grandma's place for New Years! 4 blocks away. | |
| | | "Hello Grandma." or "Konichiwa oba-chan. Genki desuka?" | |
| | Everyone gets to hold Hannah. This is Noriko's younger sister. | |
| | | Everyone eats special new years food. Even the ancestors. | |
| | After a long day, a nap in great grandma's arms before we go home. | |
| | | Back home, we set-up for our first family photo. | |
| | First, Noriko and Hannah... | |
| | | ...and then me. Hannah's very tiny and fragile. | |
| | Soon she'll be riding in a fancy bicycle seat. Note: windshield. | |
| | | And then riding a cool bus to nursery school. | |
| | But for now, "Hannah, are you happy?" | |
| | | "No, I'm about to cry. And I'm tired and hungry!" | |
