smcFanControl 2.0 is a complete rewrite. It includes the following improvements:
• Version 1.x was a "regular" application located in the dock. Version 2.0 sits in the menubar for quicker access to the fan settings, easier monitoring and a better overall user-experience
• Version 2.0 supports every intel mac
• In Version 2.0 you can save different fan-settings as favorites and active them with just one mouse-click
• On portables you can autoapply different fan-settings, when the powersource changes. So you can cool down your macbook automatically when its loading the battery (and is typically running hotter).
• Version 2.0 has got an "add to login-items option"
• Version 2.0 uses standard OS X authentication

First: Thx so much for all the translations, suggestions and bugfixes I got by you. You are a great community! The next major-release of smcFanControl is going to be a MenuExtra instead of an application located in the dock. It's already in development and I hope to get it out by the end of the coming week. But before there is a last release of the "conventional" smcFanControl application.

Info: On Macbook Pro's the speed of fan #2 can not be set under the speed of fan #1. This behavious seems to be due a setting in SMC controller. I can not change it.

ShuffleSaver 1.1. has been released today. It includes a lot of new features. The highlights are:

• iPhoto support: ShuffleSaver now displays images from your iPhoto-albums. You can select your favorite albums and shuffle them.
  iPhoto support also includes an new save feature. So you can save flickr-photos to iphoto directly.

• Offline-Cache: ShuffleSaver now has an offline-cache. So it displays photos even when you are not connected to the Internet. So there is no reason not to make ShuffleSaver your default screensaver anymore

• New GUI: The userinterface has been completly redesigned for better user-experience

• New Transitions: There is a real crossfade now, which should run on slower machines as well. The old dissolve-transtition has been replaced with a new ripple-transition

Do you think screensavers are boring? Then you should try ShuffleSaver. In my opinion it's the most dynamic screensaver to date: It grabs your favorite photos (by tags, username or interestingness) from flickr.com and shuffles them. So everytime your screensaver starts, you will see amazing new pictures. You can even create favorites of your settings or save your favorite images to your harddisk. TextClips are created whenever you drag some text to the Finder or Desktop. Unfortunately Spotlight does not index TextClips, cause Apple did not include an importer for those files. TextClipping is that missing importer. Just install it and your TextClips will be searchable.
