Advice to a young bride



I recently wrote an article on "advice to a young groom." Today I heard of the book "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." I listened to an interview of the author (Podcast from Focus on the Family) and found it on target. Kind of surprising, since her radio program drives me nuts. Read this review for a good summary of the book.

For my own part, I'll build on my advice to a young groom this way: Yup, he's emotionally clueless. Can't fix that. However, he needs to know that you believe in him - that you recognize and admire his strengths, whatever your particular guy's strengths may be. Give him that and your life - and his - will be as close to fairy tale as you can manage in the world we live in.
