Parallels on Intel-Mac

Some scientific software isn't (yet) available on Intel-Macs. Many of my students use Windoze XP. I installed Parallels on my Macbook Pro so that I could run WIndoze software in the same environment as my students.

I documented my experience with installation of Parallels, setting up networking, etc. on my Auburn University log
Article 1
Article 2
Article 3 in which I found my silly installation mistake.

I then installed MATLAB on the machine. I ran MATLAB's benchmark under Parallels. The first time I ran it it was slow, but each run after that it rated about where it belonged.

I had to install the full 2GB of RAM in my mac so that I could run both OS's reasonably. By reasonably I mean that they were both busily chewing up CPU time running simulations, etc.
