News from Auburn: Friday Sept 12, 2008

For a change, I've had a boring week.  Mmm.  Good.

Lessons learned this week:

(1) Bluetooth headsets do not work nearly as well after they go through the wash.
(2) Putting a sink directly in front of a handicapped accessible bathroom stall makes it much less accessible.
(3) Some wheelchair ramps are as steep as an airplane on takeoff.
(4) It is remarkably easy to send out an email THREE times when your wireless router starts to act funny.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I've been teaching youth sunday school for the past few weeks.  I really enjoy being back with the kids.  Some of my lessons are on line:
- Sept 7: The Magnificat: an illustration of costly faith.
- I've started to upload my Aug 17 presentation to our youth group, "What's it all about," onto YouTube.  My YouTube home page is
http://www.youtube.com/user/hodelas
I'll be putting it up in 10 minute chunks about 1ce per day until it's done.
- You could also read my favorite blog post of the summer, "Reflections on Matthew Ch 8, which I didn't think had to do with cancer."

Looking for a way to celebrate my good news on Monday?  From my Uncle Vic:
I think I mentioned to you my friend Matt Scarr who is running in the Chicago marathon to raise money for lymphoma research in honor of his parents (and you).  Perhaps you would consider putting a link to his web site
http://pages.teamintraining.org/soh/chicago08/mscarr     on your site?
I'll do better than that.  If you'd like to sponsor Matt, there's the link!
