Facing the Giants

It's a man's movie about football. So, of course, I cried.

Yes I did. Not just your "oh, a bit of a sniffle, wasn't that touching" kind of cry. I emoted well enough to be an extra in the film. I bawled. I shuddered. I wiped my nose and then wiped my hands on my blue jeans.

Oh, sorry, that was probably too much information.

This is a movie about a man who feels like a failure. Then he sets his priorities right and he inspires his team, his assistant coaches, the parents, and ... well, things go better. They win with lots of hard work. Sappy plot? You bet. But it's actually a close parallel to one of my son's soccer seasons a couple of years ago when they went to the national tournament because of a ... well, you'll see the plot element in the movie.

"Based on a true story..."

Well not really. No, it kind of was, but not.

I cried. Really hard.

And Viva laughed.

See this movie. Then Face Your Giants .
