Diary of a Mad Black Woman

Not at all what I expected, but certainly worth watching.

My wife heard about this film from several of her co-workers whose enthusiasm for the film can only mean that their husbands have some soul searching to do!

I expected this film to be a simple film adaptation of a stage comedy, maybe a little coarse, maybe cute here and there. It exceeded my expectations in every way - even after I thought it would exceed my expectations.

It has its funny parts, but this film is not a comedy. It's a message about forgiveness and the role of Christ in a woman's life. It's about being strong, yet reaching out for love. It's about taking a chain saw to a grand piano. No, that's not the focus, but it IS in the movie.

We bought the DVD. I like it. I recommend it.

Not for younger children due to domestic violence and some language.
Not for people who have problems with badly dubbed singing voices in film climactic moments.
Not for husbands who have a long list of things for which they need to say, "I'm sorry!"
