Canton 7 Stoughton 0

The only score in the game came early in the third quarter. A quick Canton defensive rush - led by Doug Morgan and Matt Hagan - blocked a Stoughton punt at the 32 yard line. After short runs by Craig Johnson and Chris Donovan, sophomore quarterback Jeff Eckler found senior Tommy Lane for a 17 yard touchdown pass. Lee Bryant kicked the extra point. Lane had one of the longest punts in the rivalry - 61 yards, but Stoughton's Pete Everett boomed one 70 yards. Both punts were aided by a stiff wind.
