Canton 43 Stoughton 6

The 1981 Canton High School football team may have been the besy CHS team ever. It finished the season undefeated (11-0), scoring 357 points while giving up only 63. In the Stoughton game, Richie Shannon scored three touchdowns while Pat Keelan added two and fullback Chris Cavallaro rushed for one. Rob Davis ran an interception pass for another TD. Doug Seaman had four quarterback sacks.
The lone Stoughton score came on a 50+ yard pass from sophomore Jim Overstreet to senior Tim Plunkett. The Canton secondary featured the hard-hitting Bobby Witt, who would go on to a career as a Major League pitcher for the Texas Rangers.
