Canton 18 Stoughton 8

In a huge upset, Canton shocked Stoughton. Stoughton had won six years in a row and was a big favorite with a 7-1 record. Canton's record was 2-6. The biggest play happened with less than two minutes to play with the score 12-8 Canton. Stoughton had a fourth and two from the Canton 15 yard line when Stoughton fullback Frankie Polillio was stopped by four Canton defenders. Two plays latter, Charlie Patriaca went 70 yards for a Canton touchdown. A fight broke out in the end zone, and the game was called by the referee with 50 seconds left.
