Creature Drawing Camp

Time: June 11 -15 (Mon-Fri) 9 am-noon
Openings:
16 campers
Ages: 6-10 years old
Fee: $90

Activities: This camp calls for boys and girls who love to draw and invent! We will start with animals that are cute, cuddly and familiar, and move to rare and dangerous ones like dinosaurs and those that live in deep dark seas. We then will explore the idea of making imaginary creatures like dragons and pokemon. Finally, let’s all create our very own magical and powerful creatures!

Materials: Campers need to bring their own sketch pads ( 9”x12”, spiral bound); regular school pencils and erasers.

Drawing & Painting Camp
(New!)

Time: June 18 - 22 (Mon- Fri) 9 am-noon
Openings: 16 campers
Ages: 6 -10
Fee: $90

Activities: Specially designed for young beginners who don’t have much painting and drawing experience, this camp combines the two fun things. You will learn how to use basic shapes to draw your favorite animals, how to create visual distance for the places where you would like them to be; then work with color mixing, washes and brush strokes to create colorful pictures one after another!

Materials: Campers need to bring their own sketch pads (9”x12”, spiral bound, at least 60lb);
regular school pencils and erasers.
The studio will provide all the painting materials.


Watercolor Camp

Time: June 25 - 29 (Mon- Fri) 9 am-noon
Openings: 12 campers
Ages: 8 -14
Fee: $100 (most materials included)

Activities: This camp includes indoor and outdoor activities. Campers will first learn basic sketching and watercolor painting techniques as well as composition ideas; then we will make 1 or 2 on-site painting trips to Carle Park.

Materials: Campers need to bring their own watercolor pads (140 lb, 9”x12”, spiral bound) and paints (12 colors in tubes, Reeve brand preferred). Please add $20 if you would like the studio to prepare the materials for you.


Cave Artists

Time: July 9-13 (Mon- Fri) 9am-noon
Openings: 14 campers
Ages: 8–12 years old (should be able to handle sewing needles and scissors)
Fee: $90

Activities: Imaging sewing animal skins together to wear; holding baskets to collect food; making necklaces out of sea shells and nuts; using branches and stones to make hunting tools; talking like cavemen and cavewomen; painting mysterious animals in a big cave everyday with only the light of the torches … this is what this camp is all about!

Materials: Campers need to bring their own flashlights. All other materials are provided by the camp.


Arcylic Painting Camp

Time: August 6 -10 (Mon- Fri) 9 am-noon
Openings: 12 campers
Ages: 10 -16
Fee: $150

Activities: Following the teacher's demonstration, campers will learn basic color-mixing skills, composition ideas, and basic painting techniques. They will make their own paintings with a free choice of subjects under the instructor's guidance. Campers can expect to bring home 2-4 finished paintings.

Materials: Campers need to bring four 16"x 20" stretched canvases or canvas panels for painting. The camp will provide acrylic paints, paint medium, brushes, palettes and other needed materials.

 


Space Colonies 2312

Time: August 13 -17 (Mon- Fri) 9am-noon
Openings: 14 campers
Ages: 9–14 years old (should be able to handle scissors, hot glue guns and other sharp tools)

Activities: Based on last year’s success, this returning hands-on camp calls for a new generation to rebuild a civilization that has been lost for 300 years. Imagine several planets, occupied by different tribes of intelligent creatures. Each is distinguished from one other – not only by their appearance, but also their natural resources, cultural practices, city structures and transportation systems. They must depend on each other to survive. The success of the colonies is totally in your hands to invent and built!


Materials: Materials: Campers need to bring a pair of good working scissors, The studio will provide the rest building materials.
