Hello Golden Bear families. It's great to be back with 7th grade students. I love the 7th grade history-social science curriculum. This year we'll be studying cultures around the world from the Fall of Rome through about the time Europeans started colonizing the New World. I'm sure you've looked over our World History text book by now and have picked out your favorite chapter. We'll also be paying close attention to history in the making with CNN Student News broadcasts nearly every day. You can subscribe to the same podcast I do if you have access to the iTunes store. The download is free and will load on your computer every day, Monday through Friday.

Your grade in History/Social Studies will be based on test scores, taking notes and other work in your social studies notebook, and participating in class by answering questions, contirbuting to class discussions, or reading aloud.

I encourage you to contact me with any question or concern. I check my email often and will respond quickly. You may also call my cell phone number above whenever you need to.

It will be an honor to spend time with you on this year of your academic journey.

This will be my thirty-seventh year in the Escondido Union School District. I've taught at Del Dios (three years), Hidden Valley (twenty-nine years), and Bear Valley (four years).

I have taught special education classes (Special Day and Resource Specialist), English Language Arts, and History-Social Science.
