Hi everybody. I always hated writing about myself, so here's a bit about me with as much detail as I can bring myself to give.
I was born in Burlington, NC on December, 18, 1972. I am the son of a son of a sailor, and the son of quite wonderful people. My mother, quite the literary one, and my father, quite the musical one.
My brother, sister and I grew up travelling around the US, 'cause dad had loads of gigs that took us from Virginia, to Oklahoma, to Atlanta, and eventually ending up in Nashville.
I never took any formal music training till high school, and I actually spent my "growing up years" as an actor. I worked in any play (Waiting for Guffman had nothing on me), movie (you can see 2 seconds of me in Ernest Goes to Camp), kids CDs (there were lots of those to do in Nashville in the 80s) and I was one of those theatre goof offs in high school ( going to Nationals a few times with competitive acting troupes). Then my dad bought me a bass when I was a junior and everything changed.
I had an ax! Cool! Bands! Gigs! I wanted to be Sting and Sir Paul and Marcus Miller all rolled into one.
I moved to Boston to study theatre at the Boston Conservatory. That was fun. But I dropped my ballet and jazz classes so I could take bass sight reading and commercial/jazz theory at Berklee. Then I did loads of theater in Texas, and then playing in a bunch of bands in Austin. I eventually moved to Holland to play lots of gigs. Now I am happily married, with a daughter, who plays better piano than I. |

Study
I had fun living in Europe (more mayo on my fries!!!).
I also lived in Liverpool for a while taking music and writing classes at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Paul showed up to say hello to the class two days after I flew back to Rotterdam for gigs.
Oh well.
Got to hang out with Brian Epstein's nephew in a pub (PennyLane Wine Bar, Liverpool, UK).

North Carolina
Just moved my family to Charlotte, NC.
I am working at the famous Studio East, original home to Arthur Smith's Studio. I am engineering and producing projects right now. Totally cool studio!!!
