Progress Report
Nothing to report at the moment!
Well, almost...
I haven't made much progress with
Phoenix—or anything, really—since last week. Work has been busy and
I've been really tired lately—too many late nights/early mornings...today
another case in point?
Also, I've heard
from Carl that the next version of the VocDoc will soon be ready, so I've been
waiting to see what he has in mind for the language before proceeding too much
further with moving the editing code from PhoEdit3—no point in having to
redo stuff twice, right?
I hope to get
quite a bit done over the holidays...but then,
if wishes were beggars, horses would
have kings...or something like
that....
Lots of little side projects
to tinker on in the meantime...when there's free
time!
1. I've a quick & dirty wee
one called
ipNameFinder
that I use to look up the host names for IP addresses in the main site access
logs. It's kind-of like a super stunted version of
Network
Utility, does only one thing but does it well.
(Or not. In which case you get "(host not found)".) Currently at version 0.4.
Contact me if you're interested. (It's not very
itself,
so I'll be surprised if you are!)
2.
"Son of
PGViewer" keeps hopping around here and there.
May see the light of day in some form one day soon. Or
not.
3. Started working on my own log
file analysis app. (Hey, everything's a learning experience, right? As one of
my cousins says, "It's all good!" Not the same one that says, "Same ole same
ole" all the time, though; one of his brothers.) I mentioned this on the list I
think; called it "Beaver" or "MacBeaver" or something. I've decided to move
away from animal
names (ha!) for the time being and, in a
modest attempt to indicate somewhat my general attitude toward Life of late, am
now calling it
LogPincher.
