Uhm, yes?
Time terms are so
slippery...
NB. Update: The following day Scott did
in fact post some new information to the AreaV1 list; there has been no
response, however, to my follow-up
comments.
Lest someone be tempted
to point out my own foibles in this respect, no, I didn't get round to updating
the site on Friday. I didn't get home until 4:00 AM and when I got up again,
the day was half done with and there were more pressing work-related things
which had to be done. If I need an excuse, that's
it.
It's not like it matters
that
much, anyway, right? I mean, MacVPL/Marten(tm) is going to come roaring (or
squeaking...what kind of sound do Martens make, if any, anyway?) onto the scene
and whoosh everyone back into the safe and comfy fold,
right?
Of corporate-controlled freedom.
Nice!
So, speaking of things
upcoming...or supposed to be upcoming...where's that
mid-December
post we read about? Has it been postponed? Or is it just that people's usage
of time-related terms is so imprecise? Who knows! Nobody's saying. You'd think
that they would want to keep the group informed, as their best base of potential
first customers. Guess not.
And don't
give me that "But they're probably too busy getting ready for MacWorld"
crap,
either. It would take all of an hour—if that—to draft a post to the
list. Hell, we've given them a list of things we
really
want to know (and by
we I
mean three of us.); answer those questions and fill in a bit more detail and
ta-dum, it's done. Let's be honest about it:
If they're in a place where one hour is
going to make that much of a difference...that's something potential users
should know about as well.
This
bodes well for relations in the future, no? You remember how Pictorius treated
its
best user base, right? (Nice to be able to sit on a wooden chair again without
a ring cushion, no?)
I guess it's true
that people who don't learn from the past...ah,
whatever.
I'm pretty much past the
point of caring at the moment. As soon as Carl puts the last, finishing touches
on the VocDoc we'll be ready to go. (I
now have a preliminary version that I'm going
through.)
I will say this, if
there's a free, limited time demo, I'll download it and have a look. If not,
I'll rely on someone else to send me screenshots and tell me how it works.
(Unless such actions are prohibited by the User Agreement. Probably will be,
right, given the AR hush-hush of the alpha
test?)
I think I can find something
more interesting to spend
my
money on. (Like beer & pizza for
Xmas; hopefully there's no similarity in the
after-effects!)
(Gee...how did I
get so
bitter?
You'd almost think this mattered to me in some way!)
