Okay, so what is the purpose of this page? I intend to document the progress of my Fiero project. Actually, this is my second biggest project (after my house). Right now my house is the project that is getting ninety five percent of my attention. We finished our house in August 2002, and my Fiero finally moved into its own garage stall. Work on the car is competing for my time with the house's lower level, Deck and Landscaping, not to mention a couple vintage snowmobiles. I expect initial progress to be slow. Right now I am just aquiring parts and ideas. Please hit my poll above and help me decide what direction I should go. If you have any other ideas, please send an email or please comment in my guestbook!

| Here is the 60 degree engine with the signature Fiero intake manifold. This engine was GM's first release of what would later be known as Tuned Port Injection in other cars including the Corvette, Camaro, and Firebird. When I took possesion of the car, would start, but the throttle had to be jockeyed to keep it running. If I pressed the throttle down, the engine would lean out and die, but if I let off before it died, it would smooth out until it acted as if it was running out of gas. It was pretty weird. Troubleshooting was pretty tough at first, but eventually I found that the output pressure of the fuel pump was extremely low. If you need to check yours, it should flow a pretty good volume at the fuel manifold line when the fuel pump is operating normally. Mine would flow , but at a low pressure and volume. The fact that it flowed at all caused me a lot of confusion until I theorized a bit and decided to try the fuel pump. After switching the pump, I could drive it, but it requires a VVVVEEEERRRRYYYY long warmup. The whole exhaust is shot, and it needs to be replaced. My plan is for a V-8 conversion, so I don't want to dump any money into that area yet. |
| The interior of my car is somewhat worn, but it is a very easy interior to upgrade and/or restore. The car needs a radio, but that's the least of my worries for now.

| Here you can see the front end damage that the car has sustained at some low point of its life. The front of the space-frame will need work, a new nose, and a new fender is also needed. The headlamp motors are very weak if they choose to work at all.
